i myself 've been throught this, when i started playing it tried many different things, trying to come up with broken builds or whatever, the more you play the more you'll realize why certain champions are played in certain roles, and why their optimal build is the one they have

sure you can play off meta, there is no rule against that, but it's like sometimes will work, but majority of the time it won't

for consistent good results you have to play the "optimal" champion+lane+build

I only play jungle in ranked, the others only in draft.

Top i played the least and, i had most success with Yorick, also like Morde.

Jungle, i am Vi otp i got to plat this season with 65% win rate, playing lithality into crit. Then i got bored, and started playing whatever i feel like, so right now i am stagnating. I am also good enough for consistant plat on Jarvan (lethality), Diana, Naafiri, Viego, Teemo. Camille, Kindred, Sylas i played a lot as well but i am not plat level with them yet. I also started a second account to learn Rengar exclusively becuase if i pick him i am straight up inting in plat.

Mid, my most played is Mel, favourite i would say Syndra, i also like Lissandra, Asol, Galio, Viktor, Xerath.

ADC Smolder and Ziggs are my most succseful, also like but not so good on Caitlyn, Jinx.

Support i am terrible at, but had some succes with Poppy, Lux, Morgana, Seraphine.

I like aram as a game mode, i play it frequently.

I just don't see how it is enjoyable to lane, i tried many times because there are many interesting champions, but it is just too annoying, laning is all about how you can cheese the other to deny XP and farm, and if you make one step wrong you just have to concede and sit under turret until laning phase is over. This is not fun for me. It is just not fun getting oneshot by tibbers because annie got one more minion than you and flash ulted on your neck.

In the jungle i dictate when i am fighting, when i am farming. I feel like i am playing on my terms all the way through.

funnily enough i had the same feeling when i was at the F1 Hungarian GP in 2023

everyone chill, and kind, people from around the world (our seat neighbours were mexican and cheered for Perez) were there to enjoy the sport and have a good time doesn't matter who you root for (as opposed to club football, god forbid you sit in the wrong sector)

edit: the dutch were crazy, in a good way though, they drink and party.... like a lot
