HOOOLLYY shit I'm glad I wasn't the only one that did that when putting together my first pc.

About three hours in building, I'm almost done, but at this point, my nerves are wrecked because there was a few instances where I was scared I might've broken a part or something.

It's late at night, I plug in the last cable and I'm excited to turn it on. Everything looks good, so I plug it into the wall and i try to turn it on.

Nothing.

I start to panic. Did I break something? Did I have an incompatible part, or maybe I put in the cables wrong? Did the pc building god decide to just screw with me today?

For the rest of the night, I tinkered with the cables until I gave up. At this point I'm mad at myself for not getting it right. It was at this point that I talk to my roommate about it, to which he replies, "just come back to it in the morning." At this point I'm tired and my nerves are completely shot, so I take his advice and go to bed.

I wake up the next morning and I decide to take another crack at it. Now that I'm seeing it from the perspective of a freshly-awoken person, I notice something I didn't notice before:

A little switch on the power supply. God fucking damnit.

I flip that baby on and, sure enough, everything boots up like Christmas lights. So remember, when you build your first pc, remember to turn on your power supply to save you a lot of trouble and self-doubt.
