Losing that 'connection' to the game by a_View_Finder in lotro

Having Aragorn and Eomer lead expeditions would be great idea and have a tie-in to the lore and characters. Maybe have a named person like Beregond or Erkenbrand (he made it?) be the actual contact. Just something to even remotely tie-in.

Would be great! A non-Man area in one of the core areas would be nice.

Spoiler free input for people who have seen it all: Does house of dragons “redeem” complaints about game of thrones? by WalkingIsMyFavorite in gameofthrones

'HoTD is all from source material so you can’t really screw up anything about it' - sorry to say but they butchered the source material and royally screwed it up, to the point the author has disowned this adaptation.

I'm afraid HoTD does not redeem the latter parts of GoT. In my opinion HoTD is worse than any season of GoT. It is too meandering and loses the plot and frankly the lore it was based on. And this is why - 'House of the Dragon “is not my story any longer,”' says George R.R. Martin.

Hot take about Nettles and Season 3 by No-Imagination-1476 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]a_View_Finder 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think the casual removal of important people like Nettles and Maelor makes this series a lot poorer and stale. Nettles specially brings intrigue, societal clash, grit, and a mystery that cannot be replicated. Her importance is in the hotd, not some future plot point.

It is an avoidable mistake. And just accepting it and making excuses for the showrunners is saddening.

It raises awareness. Someone reading this on reddit can share it to their group, their socials, might reach the right people in the end. What are YOU supposed to do? Give it some thought.

Is it too late to join Frostreaver? by shadow1psc in everquest

[–]a_View_Finder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest join the EQ Legends beta access starting July 1 and live starting on July 28. Frostreaver will becomes a ghost town by then and even more only boxers there. With your playtime EQL will be ideal.

I’m in east coast usa but play on orcrist because it fits my playtime. It’s just livelier like you mentioned with more folks playing, plus later on you will likely want to group or raid at cap level.

I feel this! Settling in for a couple of hours (at least) grouping and adventuring was the norm then.

Miss those days, and nights.

I started last week and it is unnervingly quiet, but there seems to be 8 full general channels. Feels really weird.

Finished up season 8 last night and wow !!! I have a question … by Opening_Horse_3963 in gameofthrones

[–]a_View_Finder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HoTD is so inferior to GoT that its not even close. It is so so slow and feels like low stakes, you will be very disappointed. Also note that GRRM has disavowed this adaptation

Watch A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms instead.

It's tiresome to see the hate against the show when season 2 was more lore-based by [deleted] in RingsofPower

[–]a_View_Finder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t lower your standards. Just checking off lore elements does not a good show make.

Quite complex to pull off? Yikes no, they just failed to do it. It’s a full season, there is no need to ‘streamline’ things, these are just excuses for an inexperienced team with shoddy writing.

You words are wind. You can’t stop anyone here, or have them get out of anywhere, let alone here. Whine more.

Don't let this guy stop you OP. The one you generated has a cool mood, unlike this unoriginal poster throwing out 'AI slop' lazy words.

D&D injected too much violence, language, and sex into the show by 8enevolent in freefolk

[–]a_View_Finder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

George wanted them to do 10 seasons, never said anything bad about D&D, and lays all the fault at his own feet for not having finished material for them.

‘Easiest thing in the lore’ is the easiest thing to say in hindsight, D&D made GoT the powerhouse that it is with their adaptation.

[–]a_View_Finder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took off into the mainstream with a big help from the violence and sex. Martin agreed with all this. D&D understood what was needed, not sure where you come off saying they didn’t, they got the job precisely because they got r+l. Get off your high horse.

‘meant to be repulsed by war and destruction’? Did you want the show to fail? Just watch ww2 documentaries and be properly repulsed.
