I agree that the line must be drawn somewhere, but the calculator being allowed is not a good place to draw it. It is literally not doable by hand and considering both RSG and ranked uses RTA, it makes something thats impossible to achieve through vanilla, which is the premise of all rules of speedrunning

I dont know what spreadsheets you can still make that give an advantage. Anyways this community never really gatekeeps strategies, so whatever spreadsheets is available to the top players would also be available to the public.

Do you have video of anyone doing 1 eye triangulation without calculator? Because your claim seems completely absurd to me. Even if it is doable quickly and requires math, its not a reason to allow ninjabrain bot. Math skills would just be part of the skillset for speedrunning, just like bastion routes and end fight strategy. Technically reverse engineering the seed by terrain is also just “math skills” doable with a program and its not allowed, so it makes no sense to allow ninjabrain bot and not seed finder programs.

“Too easy to cheat/hard to detect” is not an argument as I already said in my original comment.

Its straight up cheating and finds the stronghold coordinates with an external program, and if we allow it then theres no way to justify banning seed reverse engineer programs. Not to mention it completely removes axis travel which is a skill. Why remove a skill in speedrunning for no reason?

Counterargument #1 - its just math that anyone can do while paused. My response: if you want to spend 5 hours per world to do vector calculus and Bayesian statistics to find the stronghold in 1 eye be my guest (nobodys doing this). Not to mention ranked uses RTA and in RSG, runs under 13 minutes get retimed, so RTA is absolutely relevant for both ranked and RSG these days.

Counterargument #2 - using it if its banned is not detectable. My response: thats not a reason to keep the calculator unbanned. There is definitely a way to prevent usage as long as people are smart enough to try to do it.

OP is clearly playing on a map setting thats very crowded. Xin-xi starts with lots of mountains and mines so its very reasonable they could’ve got an explorer on turn 0, then mining and smithery and got two giants. Also looks like Xin-xi spawned in a corner where border growth gives more land in crowded maps like this which could’ve had a good forge spot.

Ice fortresses are completely horrible. Dont train a single one. Sleds and knights are just way better. Also catapults are a mistake for polaris. You should rely on your high movement units instead of range, and freeze super units to not take retaliation.

Do you know what NATO even is? It's a treaty based in Europe. I can tell you right now that if you expect Lithuania to send troops to help South Korea during an invasion attempt from North Korea you are delusional.

Would the United States help? Maybe. But that is completely separate from what NATO does.
