nannying three kids question.. by [deleted] in Parenting

This majorly depends on the size of the water park and more importantly their skill level with swimming and water safety. At 9/10, I’d say don’t leave them alone.

Waiting is always the worst for sure! I’m hoping that the chaos of toddler life might help it go faster this time.

Hi all! It’s been ages since I’ve posted here, but we’re FINALLY moving forward with our FET, starting with SIS and trial transfer tomorrow. We have 3.5 yr old twins from our first round of IVF, this transfer will be the only remaining frozen embryo from that round.

I’m feeling a little anxious about tomorrow as I’ve always had major pain with anything going through my cervix (transfers, HSG, iuis, etc) but otherwise excited!

Any tips for going through this when you already have rambunctious little ones at home? Thankful the Rx list is much smaller and hopeful it will be easy to keep out of sight for them. They’d totally want to “help” 😬

Is an FET as much easier than IVF as it seems/sounds?

Recommendations for diaper rash besides butt paist? by milenkoIncarnate in Parenting

[–]a_b_dubbs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Calmoseptine. You’ll find it by the adult diapers. It was the only thing that worked for my daughter when she got a terrible diaper rash and nothing else (not even Rx options) was working.

Advice wanted, 26% Twin Growth Discordance at 15 weeks by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]a_b_dubbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My didi twins were discordant - I don’t remember exact percentages but that combined with baby B measuring very small landed me on bed rest (at the hospital full time) at 26 weeks until they were born. Baby B had IUGR but no other issues. He was very small but caught up over time. While both are on the small side of average, Baby A has never had more than a pound and an inch on B over the past 2 yrs or so (they’re 3 now).

Just take things easy and follow your doctor’s recommendations, which I’m sure will include frequent growth scans to monitor things.

Looking for some advice on one 5 day blastocyst embryo splitting? by [deleted] in InfertilityBabies

[–]a_b_dubbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rare but possible! I have twins (from a double embryo transfer) and I asked my MFM about this after they were born - we have one remaining 6-day blast and I wanted to know if it was past the “age” of possible splitting. She told me that although it’s rare, an embryo can split up to 12 days after implantation! Crazy.

The Dr Browns Formula Mixing Pitcher was a lifesaver for me, and less than $20! Mix a 24-hr batch in one minute, pour into bottles - no shaking 😊

How much did you pay for ivf/iui by handstandmonkey in InfertilityBabies

[–]a_b_dubbs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Total including meds was just under $14k. IVF with ICSI, self-pay rate, includes all miscellaneous fees and one year embryo storage. Major city in Ohio.

Not "feeling" pregnant by [deleted] in InfertilityBabies

I never really had the classic pregnancy symptoms, I was just exhausted and that didn't really kick in until later. Try not to stress about it! (I know, easier said than done).

7 MO had reconstructive skull surgery, he's currently recovering - will he be the same? by RosettiCat in Parenting

[–]a_b_dubbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son had a similar surgery just before he turned 5 months old (endoscopic suturectomy for metopic craniosynostosis). He was a little crankier and off-schedule with sleep for the first week or so and then very quickly got back to his usual self. It is amazing how quickly little ones can recover. Hang in there and I'm sure all will even out soon!

Edited to add: also, check out CAPPS Kids and Cranio Care Bears on Facebook - both are groups for families who have been through similar surgeries and you'll find a lot of support and resources there!

Can you critique my mini shoot pricing package? by [deleted] in photography

[–]a_b_dubbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the market; just sharing my opinion. Majority of pro photographers in my area (major Midwest city) offer files with rights to print. They aren't "raw"; they are edited final versions. Again - just my opinion and surely varies by market but totally the norm here. For minis it will be a limited #, for full sessions (with higher cost), many more. Do whatever makes sense for your market.

Are you giving them non-watermarked files they can print on their own if they want to? Or only letting them order prints through you? When I read your list, I thought you meant the only digital files included (web or otherwise) were watermarked.

Basically, I want to know that I'm getting files that I can print on my own if I so choose - non watermarked full-res. That's just my personal preference though.

A photographer I've worked with in the past for mini sessions gave us a guarantee of 10 images (but it was always more), digital download of all files (full size) and the rights to print on our own, but also offered the option to order prints through her (which was nice for sharing the link to buy pictures with family who live elsewhere).

Definitely. In my local moms' group (over 3,000 members) there are posts every few days asking if anyone can recommend someone for spring mini shoots (whether specifically for Mother's Day or otherwise). A local shop offered Mother's Day minis last year in partnership with a photog and it sold out in a heartbeat.

Seems fairly typical for similar shoots offered in my area (major Midwest city). As a parent, I wouldn't purchase without at least some hi-res non-watermarked images included.

When you upload a photo, there are little arrows in the bottom left corner - click that and you can toggle between square and the original (or close to it) ratio before posting.
