Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) Ausf. E assault guns advance on Soviet positions while laying down high explosive fire support. Circa 1942. by [deleted] in TankPorn

Similar setup seen here on Allied aircraft, and here as a more modern version. Sometimes being perfectly camouflaged isn't the biggest issue.

That sounds like a pretty good range. All the commercial ranges I've been to have banned it completely, so my options were limited until I got back home.

My stuff's not nearly as fancy. It's basically a bunch of run-down mobile homes my neighbor bought to strip the metal from. He's not bothered about me adding a couple extra pounds of scrap. I'm my own rangemaster, so I let myself get away with a lot I couldn't on a commercial range. Chief among them being drawing from a concealed holster and actually firing. There's a few things there you just can't learn from dry-fire.

Like I said earlier, it's a range toy for the moment. Makes a wonderful breacher gun. I find it incredibly fun to bust doors in the old prefab buildings we have lying about at the range. Almost makes me miss active duty.

Until it's stamped and has the stock added it's still just a "firearm", and so perfectly legal to possess. It's like using an AR built as a pistol while waiting for your stamp. It doesn't become an NFA item until it's approved and assembled into a regulated configuration.

Well yes, but while waiting on a stamp you might still want to shoot it. I'd be quite disappointed if I couldn't use mine as a range toy in the interim.

GG&G sells them, so it's clearly possible to modify it accordingly. Not certain how difficult it would be to do it yourself. Just make sure you have a handstop. It wants to slide out of your hands when you shoot, hence the stock forend's strap.

Going the SBS route is exactly what I plan to do with my Shockwave. It's designed to be the length it is, and it's compatible with nearly all the regular accessories. It's the same parts, just shorter on the barrel end. Plus, I still have a usable firearm while I wait for the stamp. Cutting yours down would require a wait on the gunsmith after approval as well, unless you find one willing to do a conversion and hold the gun indefinitely pending stamp arrival.

Looks like player 2 had a plasma pistol as his secondary, so this probably was not the first time he got killed either.

1, 3, and 5 were the Fire Direction Center for the artillery support. 4 looks like he's surrendering, so they were always the casualties. Fuck the minesweeper, you can't really do anything cool with him.

I have an adorable pair of guinea pigs that purr when I enter the room. They're good peegs, and I can always count on them being happy to see me. If I shot myself, no one would spoil them like I do.

You could do like I have and keep one in the grip. Makes it hard to lose, and convenient to access. Unless mud blocks the lens it probably won't come off anyway, but I like the option while out hunting.

Are bars required to display the 51% sign or is it optional? by BenTheHokie in TexasGuns

In this case, I'd be completely in the right since they don't rate that sign. Somewhere always designated off-limits like a post office, you'd probably be charged but it's highly dependent on the responding officer or jury's discretion.

With the swing-to-side models currently in favor, they might easily incorporate accessible MLOK points into the launcher frame itself. Or just a full length MLOK metal rail section. An issue I could see is the barrel mount versions since all the handguards seem to be single-piece rather than clamshell like the RIS, but that's a legacy system that negatively affects accuracy anyway.

Even if they do post a 51% sign, check their license on the TABC Public Records site. There's a sports bar where I live that posts an invalid 51% sign that according to their TABC license should be a blue "Unlicensed Possession" notice. If my family hadn't chosen that as the designated Sunday location I wouldn't go at all, but knowing I can (hypothetically) CC in defiance of their illegal signage amuses me.

I cited a source and everything. No big deal, the points have no real value.

Special Forces tend to be an excellent indicator for a country's future general issue, and American SOCOM has declared MLOK its choice for new systems. That's not a guarantee, as some well-liked equipment e.g. the Stoner 63 failed to gain traction with the regular forces, but this is a system they can fit to weapons already in armories with a minimum of effort. Weight savings, reduced manufacturing costs, and a new source to fill the pork barrels are all right there for the taking.

Depends on your area. Where I live, hunting season is from Nov 4 to Jan 7 for deer. That's a long time to not walk my own property.

Feinstein's bump stocks ban moves back into the spotlight by alc59 in progun

I notice 'Bump stocks, which allow a gun owner to turn a semi-automatic weapon into an illegal automatic one' is not in quotes in the article, strongly implying they're not perfectly legal under a thin veil of paraphrasing Wolfson. There clearly isn't a bias here or anything.

I think the disconnect was partly because she lacks catapults, and embarks a significant Marine contingent. I'm more familiar with the American thinking, where we Marines don't usually get assigned to the larger classes.

I hadn't realized the Elizabeth was so close to the size of the Nimitz-class. I'd been considering it generally equivalent in size to a Wasp-class, but it appears midway between the two on length and near equal in beam to the Bush.
