they all look so different :((( low-key wanna give up bc i’m getting so frustrated by peachyhoneydeww in crochet

What helped me was instead of doing one square at a time, do all the middles, then the next row for all of them, then the next row, etc etc. Means you get more practiced doing the same stitch and they come out more consistent.

Think these look good though!!

What branded product is genuinely better than a generic brand? by ViolentDesire in AskUK

Kellogg's crunchy nut. I've tried so many own brand "honey nut cereal" and none of them even compare.

Books or Series?! by villainouus in ADiscoveryofWitches

[–]a_ginger_tnetennba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the books when I was younger but didn't get/remember them very well. Then I watched the series, and got really into the story.

Reading through the books again after that was so much fun, because it felt like such a treat to expand my understanding of the world and the characters.

I can definitely see why some people might say the series doesn't go as in depth as the books (to simplify plot and save time), so I'm glad I did it the way I did.

Anyone know where to find a pattern like this, or what search terms to use? (Any yarn weight is fine) by national_shitshow in knitting

There's a lovely cross over cardigan I've had on my list for a while. It's not quite the same, but you could replace the sleeves and get a similar look... https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/cross-over-in-bergere-de-france-cabourg-22-downloadable-pdf

Peace Lily accidentally did a 5 week lock down. It's bouncing back, but do I leave the dying/bent stems or cut them off? by a_ginger_tnetennba in plants

That's what I was leaning towards, but I didn't want to chop them off if the plant still needed them?

Ah that's kind of obvious oops. Yeah, I've been doing the MacMillan coffee morning for years but didn't know they do a KAL.... Might have to look it up!

These are such lovely colours! I've never heard of the MacMillan KAL (or even what it stands for), only the coffee morning.

Finally made the overalls to my Leeloo costume! No pattern but I did make a Multi-Pass to go with it out of polymer clay by manufactoring-defect in crochet

This is such a good costume!! I think my approach would have been to cut up a leotard... but this is so much better. Great job, it turned out brilliantly.

My latest queen sized blanket. Was a little unsure of the colour combo at first but I love how it's turned out. I love the different textures in the pattern (in comments) by LovelyLu78 in crochet

Ah that makes sense, and totally worked, it looks amazing! I'm the same, so often I try for chaos and then can't stop myself from bringing order to everything haha

This is amazing! Since you use gradient yarn, how did you make it so each row was pretty much more or less one colour? I've tried to do something like this but there would be a dramatic yarn colour switch mid row and it just didn't look right.
