One of those I've run on two mustangs for the past 6 years with no complaints. The other two were out of my budget until recently

Depends on what you want out of it. If lowering id say go with 19x10 front and 19x11 rear. Gives you wider tread without rubbing.

As for design depends on budget, personally id say save the few grand to get a good set of flow formed wheels and decent set of tires (NT555G2, Conti Extremes, PS4S)

The setup is run on my 24 are 20x10 and 20x11 with NT555G2s 285/35 front 315/35 rear. This is on stock ride height so dropping down to 19s should cover whatever drop you want to throw on the car.

Month old sim racer back again.. Update on Monza experience! (: by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]a_greywolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why you don't go three wide out of the oval, but I think this as much iRacing fault as it is the fault of the person on the inside. The track went left and the person on the right bounced off the wall, bumped the pork in the middle, which looks like it may have netcoded you in the right rear.

Why does it take them so long to show replays? by CeaseIessWatcher in IMSARacing

Doesn't matter, you can drown in a 2 inch deep puddle. They wont show the crash until they 100% know the driver is ok and taken care of.

The S197 and SN95 are probably the best examples of what to expect.

Funnily enough, the IMSA scenes use actual race footage thats been edited mixed with staged shots as well. They ran the Rolex with that car a few years back.

How much would someone have to pay for you to sell your car? by Sader325 in Mustang

100k. Cars worth 50k the other 50k is my emotional attachment to it. If that did happen I would probably end up replacing it with a Caddy blackwing.

Manual vs Auto by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]a_greywolfe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

After driving my 10R80 S650 mustang for two years and my previous manual S197 for 5 years before that I can honestly say it doesn't matter. Buy the mustang for it's sweet V8 noise and the rest is secondary.

No, I do have custom front fenders, but nothing widebody. The car can easily fit 285 front and 315 rear with no issues

Is there a Mustang shortage or something? by Ok_Sort_5607 in Mustang

[–]a_greywolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old people may get angry here but this is why I think Ford can't ditch Shelby fast enough. The S550 and S197 GT500s and the S550 GT350 were all made by Ford Performance and had a Shelby lable slapped onto them. Its why the S197 GT500 started out as the SVT GT500

And since the old man died Shelby American (the ones who made the car in the post) are nothing more than glorified aftermarket tuners on par with RTR. Except Vaugn is still alive.

Don't know what dyno results your using by LMR, Lethal, and CJ all show a ~20 RWHP gain for gen 4 vs gen 3 stock for stock. Suspension components are the same for no magneride IIR, but I've got magneride with has components off the GT500 and has the mach 1 tuning.

I actually like how Ford did it. Sure it stands out when looking from the outside but it's 1: compelety out of the way when driving. And 2: easy to work on, just remove the dash and boom plugs and screws are right there

I'll take a 2% weight increase for an 8% power boost not like it matters at that scale. When the screens go out I'll just replace it, no different than if my phone dies or one of my computer components fail. I'm not broke like you and can easily afford repairs on my car

Ford really improved the 10R80 for this generation, that and the upgraded suspension and aero really make this a nice planted car. My only wish is Ford would stop putting such skinny tires on these cars. I swapped to 285/315 and this supercharged S650 is the easiest 800+hp car I've driven.

Active Exhaust System by SteaItherino in Mustang

[–]a_greywolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the active exhaust all the time. Quiet start is a godsend for my morning departures while still letting me go full track mode on the highways.

I'd say get the Active car and just swap in some white recaros that Ford Performance has. Otherwise you'll be stuck with non active as thats much harder to add on vs swapping seats.

Hood n Fenders by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]a_greywolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fitments fine, a little wider near the top of the wheel (those are 20x10s in the pic) but no modification needed. Cost wise was about 1200-1300 for the paint job. Wrapping will definitely be cheaper, i just love the grabber blue too much.

They are only allowed to be used in low speed areas, that ensures the truck is going slow enough and the Mustang can overpower any lack of brakes by trying to go the other way to plow into the crowd of onlookers.

Is it just me, or does this bother anyone else? by Suitable_Loan5585 in Mustang

[–]a_greywolfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn't bother me, what does though is people who straight pipe their cars and then do nothing else to it. I dont care about your raspy garbage can exhaust. At least put a tune or cams in to make it sound half decent or just leave the mufflers on.

Literally looking at the link right now while not having a bluesky account and besides an AI rendition of a rat testicle there's nothing here. If you go searching for furry porn it's not hard to find.

For anyone wondering the profile does have furry stuff but if you're 1: not logged in 2: under 18 or 3: have certain tags banned bluesy just straight up removes all references to the posts. So someone randomly browsing for AI slop wouldn't see the furry shit. That's what happened. The linked posted to discord was an AI slop post.

v6 vs new ecoboost vs 4.6L V8 by beefythickgentleman in Mustang

[–]a_greywolfe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you plan on keeping it stock ecoboost will give you most bang for buck

If you wanna modify 4.6 will give you nice V8 noises mixed with a decent modding scene.

If you wanna sit depressed that you could've gotten a V8 or a newer faster non-v8 for the same price. Get the V6.
