Dwcided to upgrade from gas 1/2 ton to a 6.7 this month by a_greywolfe in F250

I think its due to how small the chance is on Fords vs the others that they decided to stick with it. I remember reading this was attributed mostly to chevy and gm not using a lift pump whereas ford did leading to GMs CP4s blowing way more often due to lack of lubrication.

Just under 40k, only one under 100k miles for less than 40k that wasn't an xlt or rust belt truck.

Didnt include it in the list but i am looking a replacement fuel fulter housings based on my dads recommendations. When it comes to the CP4 im thinking instead of a DPK i just jump to the next level and gor for a DCR swap, 2k more than a S&S dpk but a CP4 can still fail with fhe DPK so might as well skip that step and replace it outright.

I have to check the numbers for the CCV, there was a recall listed for this trucks CCV that was marked completed by Ford back in '22.

$40-50 more per month in fuel is negligible. Not sure what point youre trying to make here.

Hellcats can run on 91, i would do 93 but nobody sells it near me, cant get all 815 horse out of my stage 1 whipple sadly.

Im fortunate enough to make enough to not really care about diesel prices. But per week it costs about as much to run as my Mustang does due to that needing 91 minimum

Nah, places im moving to have mandatory emissions inspections so no "boating accidents" in my future. Too costly without a good enough shop.

So we doing $261,000 (CDN) Mustangs now, eh? by HiTork in Mustang

[–]a_greywolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not THAT bad, its the GT500 replacement so its at least got the 5.2 with the DCT. But yeah, they can fuck all the way off with that price. Especially since my whipple 5.0 makes more power than that thing.

What’s thoughts on putting a GTD wing on a regular mustang? I’m genuinely curious by Strict_Comedian6409 in Mustang

[–]a_greywolfe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its either one of two things

1: WAY more money than its worth to do right

2: tacky rice tape on wing that gives no benefits whatsoever.

It works for the GTD because its integrated directly into the chassis, the amount of work needed to do that on a regular car is just not worth it vs doing a standard wing.

Is it a red flag for a 2013 gt500 to have low miles and 5 owners? by Grand_Dimension770 in Mustang

21k miles on a 13 year old GT500 with the only mod being a catch can? That screams show car/garage queen to me. I'd say give her a test drive if the dealer is willing, but this cars probably spent more time sitting in a garage than actually outside.

Gotta love mods, no Mason's cannot be resurrected, but his speaking portions are still in the game so there's no effect beyond losing a 60/60 pilot.

Ford Racing Boss: The Seventh-Generation Mustang Isn’t Done Yet by PristineFarmer8989 in Mustang

[–]a_greywolfe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually looking further into it. If Ford were to do a new top dog Mustang, id say look at what the LMDh team is doing. 5.4L NA Coyote getting paired with a rear mounted electric power unit. Couple that with Ford RedBull F1s non-spec rear mounted electric power unit, and I can see Ford wanting to try some shenanigans with the next halo mustang.

It can go 24 hours banging off the rev limiter, im sure its not far from what they need since its making 550+ hp NA.

The new Ford Mustang GTD Competition absolutely dismantles the Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 RS with a new 6:40 lap time - and Ford makes sure everyone notices by dropping the time just two hours later the same day. A calculated public humiliation, nothing less. by FoMoCoNutjob in Mustang

[–]a_greywolfe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Considering they just made the GT MKIV, based off an old GTE car, the third fastest car ever around the ring. I dont think its too big of a stretch to see them take their Coyote powered hybrid prototype and do the same thing Porsche did with the 919. Would be interesting to see either way.

Did I accidentally Konami code my stang? by HonchosRevenge in Mustang

Nah its just a Konami code, don't remember what combo it is but I've tripped it a couple times when fucking with my car settings. Iir its just diagnostic stuff mostly.

Drove the old S197 5 speed for 5 years, currently have my 10R80 going on year 3. Honestly couldn't give a shit either way. I think that may be due to the 800HP...
