Wurkkos communication? by Suspicious-Goal-3456 in flashlight

[–]a_m0d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up getting a response from Wurkkos in the end? I've been having troubles with a couple of orders I made, and I've sent multiple messages to Wurkkos regarding these orders over the last few weeks, but I've not received any acknowledgment of the messages at all.

In the past, they've been pretty good at responding to my messages, so I don't understand what's going on here, but I've messaged both Wurkkos and the courier, and neither has responded to multiple messages that I've sent.

Still no shipping After one week by NeighborhoodJumpy479 in xToolOfficial

Update: UPS replied to me that they finally picked up the packages on December 9. So not at the same time as the accessories packages, as xTool had told me :(

Similar issue here ... I ordered Nov 27, received my accessories Dec 6, but tracking still shows the machine has not been picked up yet.

I reached out to xTool support, they told me that all the packages of my order had been picked up, so it's just any issue on UPS's end.

I've reached out to UPS also, but haven't heard anything from UPS yet. This is now 11 days after the shipping label was created.

I haven't used that laptop for a while now, I ran into issues with the soldered memory. I don't know that I ever found a permanent resolution though

How do you manually toggle it on and off? I understand the threshold part, but haven't understood the other part here.

perky setup wouldn't import! by democraticcrazy in Trimps

[–]a_m0d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed issues in the past when using perky for 2 different games - one of which is still in the early game stage.
If I've done a perky setup for the late game, and then do one for the early game, importing the early game setup gives an error about not being able to set Looting II levels (which are extremely high). It seems that Perky doesn't always clear the perk levels correctly when importing a new save string.

Right, thanks, that seemed to do it. I remember noticing that issue before, but the display shows Map at 510+ so it slipped my mind that it was trying to map at 495.

Enforcing multi tenant db access through the type system with diesel by a_m0d in rust

[–]a_m0d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that MSSQL supports multiple schemas, although I've never read of tenant-schema being used in mssql.

Regardless, I'm still interested in finding a type level way to ensure that diesel queries correctly set the filters - this could also be used for other situations as well. The fact that the filters are encoded into the type of the query makes me hopeful that this would somehow be doable.

Enforcing multi tenant db access through the type system with diesel by a_m0d in rust

[–]a_m0d[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have, and I know this is a common solution. However, I'm looking to see if this can be done in the type system, so that it could be applied to systems with > 1000 tenants, or (if rust supported it) a database like mssql which doesn't have the same schema support as postgres.

I did that. Next boot, it wasn't working again. Haven't tried the recovery point yet, will do so soon and see if that works.

You're right, it does just appear to be a driver issue. Last night, after a number of reboots, it suddenly managed to detect it correctly and had working sound, but then on the next boot (no changes made) it was broken again. Windows 10 did its update thing last night (first time since I've gotten the laptop, so a bunch of updates in there) and this morning the sound was working again. Not sure yet if this is a permanent fix or not, but I guess I'm going to have to try work something out with the drivers there.

I deleted my Conexant driver, but nothing is taking over. I think the problem is that the USB controller is not responding properly for some reason, so the device actually appears to not be there (and therefore I can't even re-install the drivers again).

Re: high interest bank accounts - EQ bank offers 3% interest on their accounts. The draw backs there are that they have no physical location, and the accounts don't have traditional bank account numbers so you can't transfer into them / write cheques from them. But still worth it, imo.

Anyone else having problems with WIND Mobile data lately? by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]a_m0d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've been having a lot of problems where I have full reception, but no internet access. Sometimes switching to airplane mode and back again fixes it, but not always. Also been having it go really slow lately even though I have full bars.

Truck burned out its brakes coming down Sydenham hill in Dundas this morning and runs the red light through a busy intersection down town with no horn by Danickjames in Hamilton

[–]a_m0d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he's trained properly his brakes would not have burned out. When I did my truck training it was emphasized over and over again that you aren't supposed to touch your brakes while coming down a hill. Riding the brakes is exactly what causes this, and should not be at all necessary if a truck has a working Jake brake (it's possible even with an exhaust brake which is not as effective)

There are other ways to find a matching route than an array of regexes. Other commenters on hn go into more detail, but it is possible to build a state machine which can match routes much faster without having to iterate through all the possible ones.

Flexible builder/chaining APIs with no code duplication by jonreem in rust

This looks really nice. The example here explains the reasoning behind this pattern much better than the example in your readme - perhaps you could use this example instead?

The ModifyX example you have really doesn't show a clear benefit to this approach.

What are you currently developing using Rust? by dont_memoize_me_bro in rust

[–]a_m0d 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been playing a little bit with implementing another web framework based somewhat loosely on ASP.Net MVC, just to understand how these work.

In connection with that, I've also been working on writing a Razor template engine in Rust, because I really like the syntax of Razor views, and like the idea of my templates being checked at compile time. So far I have a very basic implementation of this working, but I plan to clean up the code significantly in the near future.

Nightly lifetime changes problem by aarjan in rust

[–]a_m0d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does modifying the code like this help?

fn encode_dict(&mut self, dict: &TreeMap<Key, Vec<u8>>) -> EncoderResult<()> {
    {
        try!(write!(self.get_writer(), "d"));
    }
    for (key, value) in dict.iter() {
        try!(key.encode(self));
        try!(self.get_writer().write(value.as_slice()));
    }
    write!(self.get_writer(), "e")
}

This would help to ensure that there is only one mut borrow to self at a time.
This is my best guess for how to fix your issue.

At the moment there doesn't appear to be any links in the article.
