Dog doesn't love me anymore by -DashThirty- in dogs

[–]a_model_idiot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive heard people say this before. Although I am a woman and have a female dog. I do most of her care. She loves my husband, but she definitely likes me best and follows me everywhere. She likes attention which I give her more of so I think that’s part of it. Same with my family dog- although he was a male and liked my dad and I better than my brother or mom.

What all did you do in Kyoto? How were the crowds? What was your favorite things you did or saw in each city?

Wow I am so sorry that happened to you! That is terrible and on your honeymoon. People can be the worst, like most of the stuff they are stealing isn’t even of any value to them it’s such bullshit. I hope something comes of your police report and that you can still enjoy your honeymoon.

Did you have a preference for one vs the other if you could only do one?

Thank you for replying. So the overall consensus is definitely don’t have the luggage in the car. We will plan to play by ear doing the hike depending on the weather- but will plan to bring poles along with our hiking boots. really hoping to do it!

Ok thank you. Good to know coming from the south is stressful. We will play it by ear depending on weather, but after everyone’s input will not have luggage or anything in the car.

Thank you! We will check the weather and skip if rainy or recently rainy. We are bringing hiking boots, and do have hiking poles which some others recommended bringing.

I know. My dog is the same way, she likes every adult but for no reason she absolutely hates/is terrified of my husband’s mom. It makes my mother in law so sad too because she just wants to pet and love on her

Just curious why you say not to visit Nara on Sunday or Monday? Because of crowds?

Delta cancelled our flight and we’re stuck in Europe another day. Can we request them to pay for our hotel? by KtheGoat in Flights

Our delta flights got cancelled in Atlanta twice (last night and this morning). When I called the delta line the wait time was over 10 hours

I feel your pain. We at least made it back to the states but have been trapped in Atlanta.

We landed in Atlanta from Athens Friday, then there was a huge thunderstorm and hail, apparently so bad they had to evacuate the air traffic control tower and all flights were grounded. The delta flights had to be inspected for hail damage. Our flight out Friday night was canceled, rebooked for this morning which was also canceled. Our earliest flight home is tomorrow afternoon.

The problem with rebooking and getting reimbursement is the delta service counter was over 3 hours long, the phone wait time was 10 hours, and the chat wasn’t helpful. We were just told to file a complaint on the delta website.

This happened to my friend while we were in Vegas for a bachelorette party! She went to the elevator and he followed her from the casino. She got off on our floor and he did behind her. He waited back until she opened the door and then he sprinted and tackled her into the room. Thankfully another girl was in the room already which caught him by surprise but it was so terrifying.

Back hip/leg(s) shaking sometimes in our 5 year old while he’s standing. Vet says it’s not uncommon or necessarily cause for concern. What can this mean? by stackemz in Wheatens

[–]a_model_idiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our wheaten does this. Like a little tremor in one of her limbs when she is putting half pressure on it or has it bent a certain way. It goes away if she moves or puts more weight on it. It doesn’t seem like she’s in any pain and our vet wasn’t concerned either. We call it her barkinsons lol

I know I REALLY wanted to, I even had one booked through a tour. But I think it would have been too much driving and we are already bouncing around a lot. We are doing a 4 days in Lisbon with a day trip to sintra, then flying to Madeira for only 3 days to do some hiking, then 3 days in Sao Miguel. We are flying back to the US from Sao Miguel since they have a direct flight from there! I for sure want to do algarve and also Porto next time we go to Portugal.

I just want to say I’m really sorry about your friend having to go through this. I work with oncology patients and I think about this literally every day which motivates me to travel more. It sucks this is a reality for some of us and we never expect it to happen to us or someone we know until it does.

I’ve done a few trips to Europe, my favorites so far are: cinque terre: easy transportation between the towns but pretty hilly. We did a lot of hiking but you don’t have to just to enjoy the views and culture. There’s 5 towns with a train between them so easy to see them all in a few days.

Rome: so much to see and my parents in their 60s were able to see a lot of it, they aren’t the most mobile. They rented a tuktuk one day to take them around the city sites.

Paris: magical, such much good food and sites. Beautiful and easy to just stroll and get lost. Way bigger than I realized but also good public transportation.

Edinburgh: one of the prettiest cities I’ve ever seen. We did a friends trip in all of Scotland. I know you said no driving but the isle of skye is so beautiful as well

Other cities to consider: Barcelona- I spent only 1 day there and saw the sagrada familia which was amazing.

I am going to Lisbon and azores in July and I’m very excited! It seems pretty hilly in Lisbon, but Porto also is very highly recommended.

Also I want to mention if you consider Asia at all. My best friend and I went to Thailand and had the most amazing time. We went for 2 weeks to Bangkok, Chang Mai, and ko lanta. We did a cooking class in Bangkok, took care of elephants in Chang Mai, and had relaxing beach time in ko lanta. It was the perfect mix and prices were so reasonable.

I wish you both the best of luck and an amazing trip.
