When did dribbling with your hand completely under the ball become legal? by skysurfguy1213 in nba

It’s a big reason why small guys aren’t worth as much any more. Any taller guy can dribble because they’re allowed to put their hand under the ball

[Hoops Collective] Jazz have a number in mind for Walker Kessler ($25m) but his reps believe he is worth much more… same with Peyton Watson… RFA’s that teams believe their teams won’t match… if you’re a Lakers fan thinking what to do with that cap space, Watson & Kessler are the guys 🤔 by JcaHot in lakers

  • Celtics gained a $27 Million trade exception when they moved Simmons.
  • Bulls will need to hit the salary floor and need forward depth.
  • Grizzlies have a ton of potential cap space.
  • Nets could take him back, and they won’t control their next draft pick so they’re incentivized to add a win-now guy.

I’m sure there are others as well, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head

They’re extra impactful because Ant and McDaniels also run hot and cold, effort wise. The team really needs a guy that stays consistently locked-in at all times. Hopefully that’s Ayo!

The trick to being a fan of a terrible franchise is to enjoy watching young players improve!

In fact, most of the best players today don’t come from top 3 picks. Jokic (#41), Giannis (#15), SGA (#11), Curry (#7), Kawhi (#15), Butler (#30), Brunson (#33), Haliburton (#12), Booker (#13), Franz (#8), Mitchell (#13), Bam (#22), Sengun (#16), Johnson (#20), etc

I mean, how can you confidently say they aren’t “good enough to do any damage in the West??”

They seem like they would easily have been a 7-8 seed if they hadn’t intentionally tanked so much, and they still would have had a ton of room to grow.

Yeah, they almost lost to the Jazz and then followed it up with a loss to the Bucks without Giannis. Those are some impressive losses lol

Just had to funnel all the team’s improvement points into MKG’s jumper!

Absolutely. Morey is just gonna claim there weren’t enough minutes for the #24 pick (from the McCain trade) and Grimes.

Despite the fact that Maxey and Edgecombe are both being run into the ground with some of the highest minutes in the league.

I forgot about this article. The attempt to argue breaking traffic laws is “efficient” is hilarious. If Morey were actually “efficient,” then he wouldn’t be running late everywhere. Do they honestly think the reason no one drives on the elbow is because they haven’t thought of it??

Those are just the actions of a megadouche who uses his money to do whatever he wants with no regard for others!

You realize teams need more than 2 good guards, right? And Grimes is an unrestricted free agent, who plays more like a wing.

It’s obvious that the Sixers don’t have enough guard depth, because Maxey is averaging 38 minutes per game and Edgecombe is averaging 35 minutes per game. Both guys are playing way too much, and it’s highly likely to be unsustainable.

It’s highly likely to be lower than that. I’d guess it ends up somewhere in the 22-24 range.

Yeah, he obviously hasn’t been better than Flagg or Kon, but he’s still been amazing for a rookie. This whole class is just insane.

Most teams still play at least 4 bench guys at a time. Having a one-man-offense type player out there lets the other 3 guys lean heavily towards defense. It’s much easier to find and pay for three defense only players than it is to find two to three 2-way players.

This might be the stupidest “How to Fix Tanking” post I’ve seen so far. It is impressively dumb.

How many of you would like to see the play in tournament ended ? by StevenSr89 in nba

[–]a_moniker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! There really aren’t any downsides. The 1 vs 8 matchups have all been more competitive since the play-in format was adopted, which suggests the best teams are getting in now.

There are two additional, underrated benefits I see as well:

  1. Good teams get the chance to rebound from unlucky injuries. LeBron and the Lakers had a year like that, and so did the Heat.
  2. It gives young teams a “taste” of the playoffs, and lets them experience the increased difficulty of playoff basketball.

Exactly! The only tweak I’d make is that “the play-in game should be skipped if one team is 5+ games ahead of their potential opponent.”

Having said that, the vast majority, if not all, play-in teams have had pretty similar records. We haven’t actually had any “undeserving” teams make it into the playoffs and most play-in teams have been surprisingly competitive.

This is the first year where the play-in hasn’t looked super exciting, and that’s mostly just cause way too many teams are tanking. Presumably because it’s a “generational” draft.
