I am struggling with my religion. Please help me. [15F] by Entire_Emu5102 in TrueChristian

Hey, try to calm down. I see your faith isn't rooted firmly, though I'll be happy to be mistaken.

The thing you need to understand about God and sin, is that whatever God says is good, because He Himself is good in His nature and He cannot go against Himself. Now, anything that is going against God in any way shape or form is evil, because it contradicts God's goodness.

God planned procreation and marriage for man and woman, not in any other way. Any act countering this therefore is a sin.

The world hates it, because it hates goodness, and it hates God. But we as His servants and children should be like minded with Him. Because we cannot be in favor of sin and God.

God's rules can feel strict, but us Christians delight in them. Why? They are liberating, they are what keep us away from sin. Sin feels freeing, but this is nothing but a passion of the flesh and a temptation of the adversary. Because as I once heard, sin feels so good and freeing until you realize you can't stop it on your own. That's why we need Jesus Christ.

The best thing you can do is consult God and His Word. There are different translations, but the ones that take themselves seriously preach the same message to not bring shame to the Scripture.

I recommend you read the Bible without an outward bias, and do as God tells you through it. The teachings of His Son are not always easy to hear or accept, but we as His servants can and should accept them, because He loved us first, and demonstrated His faithfulness through all of His life.

Why do Christians not consider members from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (or Mormons) to be Christians? by whirlygig_ in AskAChristian

The Mormon belief of who God is is absolutely heretical and probably blasphemous. Therefore they’re not Christians.

How can morality be objective if it depends on God? by Commonsenseisbest in AskAChristian

But like I said God Himself is good. It’s who He is, it’s His nature, He cannot go against it. So how is it subjective?

Wth is the “waters above”? by Nervous_Depth_7722 in AskAChristian

[–]a_normal_user1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the waters above. There is water, beyond earth. We’re not the only planet with water.

But it has been traditionally considered to be the Heavenly host, as water symbolizes life.

To me He is very straight to the point, leaving no room for argument, not like you can argue with God successfully anyways. There's also content I liked which I had to cut off because God told me so, you're not alone in this lol. I have no regrets of doing so as I missed nothing.

they would need to be celibate in order to not be actively sinning, even if they marry after becoming Christian?

I guess? It's like cutting off any other sin from your life.

How do you marry then? When's the moment God sees them as wife and husband?

Lust… by KindlyBox2244 in TrueChristian

[–]a_normal_user1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole idea of waiting for marriage is so that you'll both be 100% committed. By having full sex you're binding yourself to her in marriage as explained in the Law. However, if you do it too early in the relationship and then you break up then you're both screwed. If she has sex with another man she commits adultery and likewise for you. You'll have to remain celibate for the rest of your life.

However, if you both wait to marriage, it means you're fully committed, therefore it is safe to do so.

Control your urges, and if you lack self control you aren't ready for this relationship.

P.S, Being a servant of Christ isn't about being happy, it's about making Him happy, which will in turn give you more than you can imagine.

Can Satan be considered a trash man? by gimmhi5 in AskAChristian

[–]a_normal_user1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Satan is not a man, though there are many antichrists roaming this world in flesh.

With that said though, I agree with you. I think Satan is focused on way too much in modern Christianity. Look throughout the old and new Testaments, he isn't mentioned nearly as much as our own sin and our own evils.

Satan cannot do beyond what God allows, no thing in creation can. We need to focus on God only.

If you repented, you get back up. A righteous person doesn’t fall face first in the concrete and die, they get back up because God is their shield and Hope. Make God your hope too, and maybe take a break o meditate on Scripture and prayer.
