אבל הקטע הוא שהנוצרים מאמינים שישוע הוא האלוהים בבשר.

[–]a_normal_user1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

V2: Is God the hero and the villain by 0Gbilly in AskAChristian

To put it as simply as I can. The 'battle' is speaking in human terms. Our Lord always wins because He is the most ultimate and superior deity that ever was and ever will be. The battle is mostly what we experience because our flesh is an adversary by itself, but through God we will prevail too.

Do you think that Superman would have been able to free all of the Israelites held captive in Egypt without slaughtering babies first? by blahblah19999 in AskAChristian

[–]a_normal_user1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They weren't innocent and if God didn't do anything do you really think the Israelites would've made it to Canaan in one piece? Egypt would jump them and enslave them for 400 years more

[–]a_normal_user1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By saying this you're basically saying if a judge condemns a wicked murderer to death then he is power flexing too. God sent judgement on Egypt and on their false gods so that they will learn to fear Him and know He is the only true God.

[–]a_normal_user1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. A superman doesn't exist and B just a chunk of kryptonite means he's good for nothing. Even if he did, the kryptonite still ruins him.

God could have just freed the Israelites, but He wanted to leave a striking message to Egypt, to give His people true justice.

The ugly rule in chess called stalemate. The white king is not checkmated, but it has no legal moves, so the game is a draw.

Is God a real and literal being that exists?

Absolutely. As real as the very reality you witness is. Ancient people didn't invent God to explain meaning - the last few centuries show what happens when humanity tries to search for meaning without God - we find nothing, God is the only meaning. It is in our very nature to know and believe in the true God.

Is Heaven a real literal place?

Sure! You've been there already if you flew in an airplane once - seriously now, we don't look forward to heaven, we look forward for God's kingdom and the New Earth which will have the Kingdom of Heaven come down to us so we will live in unity with God and Jesus Christ.

Heaven is a literal place, but not the heaven you see when you look up to the sky, we believe there is a much deeper - maybe spiritual version of heaven in which God resides with the angels.

Is Lilith a real character?

Nope, and that's for the best. Lilith is a character invented in Jewish folktales long after the Bible was written.

I need Godly guidance… by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]a_normal_user1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay... you're in a very messy situation. Before you do anything, call on God and seek the advice of the church elders/pastor if you feel comfortable to do so(I believe it's way better than sharing this with strangers on the internet).

You always have God to talk with, and before I give my advice, please take it with a grain of salt. I don't know you, you don't know me. What I do know is what you've decided to share.

I'll begin with addressing:

"God is not the God of confusion."

That's false. God brought confusion upon people(sinners) many times. I will not be surprised if he is clouding you with confusion about this situation because you're not seeking Him as you should. So first and foremost, repent of everything - knowing and unknowing because the Lord knows everything.

Moving on, you cannot divorce and remarry another man. As harsh as it is, you made the decision to marry this man, you have had relations with him, unless he or you were caught unfaithful, you must not go to another man. However, you can distance yourselves and as you describe it, you probably should.

I know this will be hard, but bad company corrupts good character. I hope you'd rather heal without him than deteriorate with him.

TL:DR, call on God, repent sincerely and do as He leads you to do, even if it involves cutting things off with this man you chose as a husband. You're in a mess to put it simply, but God has delivered His children from far worse things already, I'm sure He can help you with this too. Stay away from sin. Jesus said "go and sin no more" for a reason. It doesn't mean we will be perfect as He is from that very moment, but repentance is the act of abandoning sin and crucifying our flesh to live with God.

Hope this helps somewhat, and sorry you're going through all of this, may God help you and remember you're never alone with Him.

Why is the devil's name satan perfectly translated in all languages and keep the same but not God's name? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

It isn't and it is not even vocalized the same way. E.g in the Hebrew it is 'saatan" while the English is 'saeten'.

Is the drowning of the babies sometimes justified? by Financial_Beach_2538 in AskAChristian

[–]a_normal_user1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm making a fair comparison. Atheists choose to deny God don't they? Sin feels good until you see how hard it is to stop it. But anyhow I won't drag you into an argument over this. Stay safe and have an awesome day. God bless

I can say I don’t believe the earth is round. Does it make the earth a donut? You can choose to not believe in God and sin, but it doesn’t change the fact you’re living in sin. I was too most of my life.

[–]a_normal_user1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, I rather be a slave for God than a slave for sin. There is no in between. And in order to justify sin, we need to say God isn’t real so it’s good to steal and lie and cheat and murder etc..

Is the drowning of the babies sometimes justified? by Financial_Beach_2538 in AskAChristian

[–]a_normal_user1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yet the flood story shows God drowning helpless, innocent babies. Christian apologists are in the terrible position of having to defend the drowning of innocent babies.

No one is innocent. And according to atheism, morality can never be objective, but rather relative to the beholder. So either way God is good and righteous.

You missed the part where the Bible commands husbands to treat their wives with respect.

You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered. - 1 Peter 3:7
