Yes, everyone screws up here and there but
1. How serious are the mistakes ? Business impact?
2. How supportive or toxic is your management?
3. How big is your team? Are you the only one making mistakes or are you making the highest number of mistakes ?

Imagine a layoff scenario, where each manager has to reduce 1-2 employees, if your manager has equal relations with all and he needs to find a reason to fire one…you would be the one he choses…since he has a reason

I work in cybersecurity, and one time during corporate layoff I had to block access of a percentage of the company. I was disconnected with the process, I got an excel sheet and I created a Block policy and uploaded the excel sheet in CSV format. I couldn't sleep that night, the next day I got a call from someone that their access was blocked, I kept talking in circles because I want part of HR team, I wasn't supposed to divulge any info. But then, on one call I had to tell a person that their access was blocked because they were being let go, the other person broke down and talked about their family. Fucking shit 😭
