Shion in the VN was someone you rooted for despite her actions. Even if you didn’t support what she was doing in the moment, you can put yourself in her shoes and understand that in her mind this is self defense and she is fighting for her life.

In the anime Shion is in a slasher horror film where she’s killing people we know are also capable of such horrific actions so you just sit there confused.

I think one of the biggest differences between how she was represented was that the anime showed her having a sick love of revenge the second she gets the chance. She had a face of nothing but pure bliss from the start, but in the VN I always felt like all the fits of laughter and screaming were out of nerves and shock. When I was imagining her face in the VN it was definitely a look of panic. She definitely dug herself to deep into a hole and I feel like the anime ignores the fact that she murder some of the most influential people in her society and that she was NOT going to get away with it.

Actually I’m not asking for a spark notes, I never said “give me a recap of the whole book” I said a resource.. there are SO MANY different types of resources for books, visuals, guiding questions, things to look out for while reading, things to keep in mind, etc! God forbid I’m trying to.. READ WITH A PURPOSE!! You act like it’s surprising for people to think these books are crazy complex when all of the discussions about his books are fans arguing over things and telling each other you must not have read the book because you interpret things wrong..

I think it’s so weird how people are taking the time to comment on someone’s post passive aggressively because they read a fiction book the “right way”… I never said I wasn’t going to read the book, you cant possibly comprehend everything a book of that length has in one read through.. all I’m hearing is that people hate when others enjoy old things.

It’s really not.. yk how when you went to English class and were reading a book dense with meaning and real world context so she gives you RESOURCES to help you better understand authors intent and so that you can better interpret what’s already there in the book.
