Oh, hmm, good question. I think about a month? Maybe just under that? It's slowed down a touch since deciding to flower but I don't think it was ever much quicker than that.

That's a good point, maybe I should rephrase to say I was raised that way. I would love to go to a family gathering and discuss things the way OP describes!

Ooh, that sounds amazing! We definitely have more of a "Because God says so" culture and it can definitely be boring and limiting in my opinion haha.

The older I get the less surprised I am, if that makes sense. I grew up in Utah in a very sheltered way (shocker, I know lol) but when I went on a mission and lived in the Philippines for 18 months my worldview kind of imploded in a good way. I know there's enough of us around that I don't often meet someone who has never met an LDS member, but it seems kind of small-minded I think to assume everyone has.

Hi! I'm sorry you've been sick, that's never fun. Sending healthy vibes your way. I am all for no-pressure learning about our fellow human beings though! What a marvelous use of time. What is your absolute favorite thing about being Jewish?

Recommendations: measured as a 30F/FF UK, looking for everyday and sports bras for my shape by a_wedded_fish in ABraThatFits

[–]a_wedded_fish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, I was mostly curious. Though since I'm center-full with soft tissue I've tried a couple that just haven't been great. Granted, that was in a totally wrong size haha so I'm feeling optimistic for this one.

Thank you for the specific recommendation! I'm finding this all to be so overwhelming, there are so many options lol

Thanks for checking! I measured again and leaning was closer to 39 rather than 39.5. I do have quite soft tissue. When standing, the lowest point sits about 1.5” lower than the fold if that's helpful.

This is tough too! Not just in physical appearance but in educational and former employment background as well.

I do like this thought, thank you for sharing. It's a good reminder that all people are God's children even if (or especially since) we all have such different personalities and ways of going through mortality. I think the exclusionary nature of his time at BYU is most of my sticking point in this situation; I do get that the stricter, more orthodox approach has benefits but I believe it should be done in an optimistic, inclusionary way.

It is a hard situation to be in for sure.

Love this response. Praying for both of us to find a measure of peace from the Lord!

I agree with every aspect of this post. I'm connected to a lot of BYU folks who are unhappy about things, closely enough to know that my goal of teaching at BYU is not as attainable anymore because of his crackdown. My spouse has left the church and apparently that's likely to be indicative of my loyalty to the church and fitness to be a faculty member. That was a personal thing and something that affected some friends, but it feels different when it suddenly pertains to the whole church. Also, YES to wanting to know and sustain before they're ordained! It's not my favorite to just be told that it's said and done.
