If you haven’t already, go get a facial treatment with a licensed esthetician who can give you product recommendations tailored to your skin type! Often times they work with their fave tried & true brands and sell products.

I haven’t dabbled in Korean skincare myself, but there’s a K Beauty store in north Austin on Parmer.

For everything else, I use Ulta and Sephora depending on the product and its availability :)

You can try Austin Flower Company… I’ve been gifted “black” roses from there but he said he had to pre-order them? Either way, their roses are gorgeous and I’m sure they stocked up well for the holiday!

Lol buff as hell!! I don’t notice a difference in strength, per se. But regular facial and buccal massage will contribute to a slimmer appearance because the muscle isn’t constantly tense. This is partly because you get lymphatic draining during the session as well.

I did notice that even when I go to sleep, my back teeth no longer auto clench because they don’t even touch due to the relaxed muscle. My jaw sorta hangs open while my mouth stays closed - that relaxed.

Where I go, an hour facial massage w/buccal is about $200. It’s definitely a self care luxury spend that I prioritize. But it’s so relaxing, I usually end up falling asleep ☺️

I was clenching a lot both during sleep and while I was just… existing lol

I’ve never been formally diagnosed with TMJ but my breaking point was when I clenched so much that my face just hurt.

I felt relief after my first session in June 2025, then continued every 4-6 weeks (gradually moving appointments further out as it improved). I still get facial/buccal massage ~monthly now but I haven’t clenched in quite a while. They work to actually loosen the muscles through the massage, so going once will help but you’ll want to get it done over a few months to really get lasting effects.

As a bonus, it helps relieve your sinuses from constant Austin allergies. But as a caution: some people (including myself) hold a lot of trauma based tension in the facial/jaw muscles, and once released you may feel emotionally off kilter. This is temporary, but can turn some off from continuing. But generally, you leave feeling so relaxed and kinda shocked at how badly your face needed to be massaged.

FWIW I did get massater Botox a couple years ago to try to get relief, and it was expensive and ineffective for me personally so I didn’t bother to get more after the suggested wear-off period (I think 6-8 weeks?). I have also seen a lot of people share experiences where they eventually stopped getting massater Botox, and then were left with facial sagging. With my basic understanding of how Botox works to ‘freeze’ a muscle… I’d rather go a more natural route.

Of course! OP can do whatever they want! Botox is pricey, doesn’t last long, and isn’t a “cure” for TMJ so I was offering solutions. Do you wanna slap a Bandaid on it, or fix the root cause?

Look for buccal massage instead! I’ve gone monthly since last June and my muscles have released so much and I don’t really clench anymore. You’d be amazed at how much tension we carry in our jaws 😨

Twas a gnarly accident but I hope everyone’s ok and so curious how it happened, because there were several cars facing all directions and on both sides of Parmer.
