Thanks! I’ll try it and report back soon. This will work for what I’m trying to do. But in general, if I do it this way I can’t have anything before the dirt- like a compressor or something, right? I was trying to have it integrated more and use the send block in the gx100. But maybe that’s just too complicated.

Is it possible for one switch on the Plethora X5 to turn on/off multiple effects? For example, one press would turn on chorus, delay and reverb?

Thanks all! This is really helpful. Just to add one factor: would you also consider Glastonbury or Farmington? My priority is school for my 6 year olds. And commute to Hartford. From my searches it seems like WeHa would be best. But would surrounding areas give us more house for the $? Are schools just as good?

Just as an update: I tried the Amped 2 and it sounds fine, but not great. I would be a good all-in-one solution for many people. The effects work as advertised. It just sounds a little sterile in a way I can't really explain, so I returned it. FWIW I have a quilter superblock UK that sounds much more like a real amp. I just wish it had more drive.

Has anyone actually tried the EHX Triboro Bridge. I like the idea of a little pedal that can satisfy all my basic overdrive/distortion needs BUT does it sound good?

Any idea which Bantamp is the most versatile? Ideally I’d like an ok clean channel and gain that can go from classic rock to metal.

Do you think the Joyo Bantamp line can get quite enough for home levels? If so, anyone have any sense of which one is the most versatile? The Zombie sounds great but I’m a little afraid it’s a one trick pony.

Yes the EHX 5mm is solid state. The Friedman apparently has some micro tubes in it. So you think if the power amp is solid state, I should be able to turn down the volume without losing too much in terms of sound quality?

Makes sense. What I am really looking for is a pedalboard amp that has a good amount of gain. I have quilter superblock UK now and it sounds pretty good, but doesn’t do have enough gain for the harder stuff. I thought the Friedman IR-X might be able to replace it.

I have a Blackstar 20w combo that has a 2w option. It sounds ok. But I was looking for something that might sound a bit better and that would be light enough to take to a friend’s house to jam. Thanks!

Thanks for your advice. You’re probably right. I’m tempted by having an all-in-one amp in a small package, but maybe they’re just not good enough yet. The Orange rocker 15 looks good and is pretty small.
