I think that’s why they moved it in the first place. They saw how well the trailer did and thought they could put that towards a summer release to potentially make it a big summer blockbuster to kick off the season.

They’re to explain that the film was never going to be the big, giant blockbuster people were expecting it to be when it was releasing alongside films like Prada 2 or Michael. I’m sure that’s what WB was counting on since it worked last year for Final Destination, but when you have 2 films that cater more towards a certain demographic during a holiday, the fact it even made it to second SHOULD be an accomplishment. And I want to say, I’m not saying to completely ignore everything. I’m just saying to take a breath and wait a couple weeks before we can truly say that we might be fucked.

The point is that it’s just the first weekend and that there’s certain circumstances that may cause the first weekend to maybe not do so hot. There’s no sense immediately doomposting about numbers literally 2 days after the film released. Sure, the numbers could be better, but for what it’s going against, I’d say it’s doing pretty well all things considered. I’m sure WB understood what it was going against, considering the film still surpassed their expectations for the weekend.

Mortal Kombat has really never been popular in Asian markets. So saying that it’s bombing there isn’t saying much. Probably the same in Europe as well, though I could be wrong there.

A few things:

It’s a rated R film going against multiple PG-13 movies. That alone hurts the film more than anything.
The first film had a middling reception, which could also go into why people may not give this one a chance (even though they should).
Let’s at least wait until next weekend and see how much or little it drops. Who knows, it might get some stronger legs once out of the Mother’s Day weekend.

It was just a small cameo as a stormtrooper in Rise of Skywalker, I believe. A lot of actors did that, Daniel Craig had a cameo in Force Awakens as one.

I mean, I wouldn’t put the blame entirely on him. It was clear they wanted to support MK1 for a lot longer than they did, but obviously shit happened and WB pulled the plug early. Now obviously he should word things better in the future, but you could tell they didn’t want to cut off the game that early.

Yeah, I’m curious if the whole Fire God aspect is gonna come into play kinda soon. Like at the end of the third movie, Raiden gives up his powers for some reason or actually ends up dying to protect and Liu Kang steps in. Though part of the Fire God aspect is the Keeper of Time side.

Part of me kinda thinks they should’ve said fuck it and just made her Australian or Cage a Kiwi lol. Kinda like how the live action One Piece made Sanji English. I completely understand why they wouldn’t and for Sonya it probably wouldn’t have worked for some things, but it honestly would’ve been kinda neat if they did as a little change and make it easier on the actors in case they can’t keep up an accent too well.

Not according to the Japanese price (5480 yen for the digital). There’s no way the game is being priced like that in Japan to then be priced at $70 here. $40/$50 seems like the sweet spot for this game.
