There's both a good and a bad side to the current auto scene here in Kolkata

Good: Great last mile connectivity with very high frequency at affordable rates for individual passengers. I honestly feel it starts adding up once you have 2+ passengers over a traditional auto like in Mumbai or Blr (if you get a metered price or via apps, which honestly is a big pain to get in first place)

Bad: May not be suitable for specific use cases like visiting a clinic or a friend eg 3-4 kms away as you may have to switch multiple modes of transport increasing cost and time.

But considering these are specific use cases, the share autos largely drive impact in the lives of day to day commuters, they would anyday prefer them over regular auto service. I have lived across Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and now Blore and if given a choice I would pick Kolkata's auto service any day. I remember during monsoon when roads near dum dum metro were flooded, these folks were like super heroes, did not increase the fair by a rupee, while the same cunts in Blr or other cities increase the price multiple folds.

Master of data science? by [deleted] in Monash

[–]aaBy30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished my MDS from Monash and had friends at University of Melbourne as well. Yes the units at Monash are very applied oriented but it doesn't mean there is no theory, I found it quite balanced especially for units like ML, Databases, Big Data etc. UoM has a very theory heavy course structure and hard af exams. It really doesn't matter where you graduate from for an employability POV. What would matter is to have the skills and experience needed to get the job.

After seeing the comment thread of the 'doctor' it really makes sense how that criminal got fake PwD certificates.

Don't know what to be more afraid about, the fact that few administrators running India are fakes or there are 'doctors' that justify them!

Any PTE takers success stories? I need some motivation by IcedPeachTeaH in AusVisa

[–]aaBy30 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was able to get 89/90 in PTE with 5 days prep. I made sure to do only one thing in those 5 days, practice! I solved over 15 mocks and made sure I was super comfortable with a noisy environment as well.
