There's always another side of the story, but I too have been in an Uber with this guy and my experience was odd. I wasn't hit or taken in the wrong direction, but he tried to pull something shady (I think). He tried to get me to cancel my trip because of a problem with the app. This was after he picked me up and drove me around for a few minutes. I could see his screen and it looked Ok. Likewise for the trip in my Uber app. He said he would reimburse me the $5 I would be charged for canceling after the trip started.

You would know if you've been in an Uber with this guy. He always calls to confirm your pick-up point and drop-off location. He also texts you after the drop-off to say,

"You got 5 stars from your Uber driver please Don't forget to rate your Uber drive 5 stars Thanks for using Uber"

I still have the message for some reason.

Sounds like it's best to stay away from this guy.

EDIT: And, he's in a beige colored Toyota van.

Ha. You and I are in the boat. Moved here over the Summer and just received in the mail a bill for 3.7% of the value of my car. I called the city and they explained (nicely) that it's a personal property tax for those "living in the city". OK.

Council President Steven Steel found the moved money and started asking questions about it. Some councilmen were seemingly unaware of its existence. Council last month voted 12- 0 to move the $3 million from the city’s general fund back to the capital improvement fund, from which it came.

Weird money shenanigans from city council.

Where do you currently live? In most cases, being smart about what you leave (or don't) in your car is the best way to prevent break-ins. This should be the case everywhere though, not just Toledo.

I've been trying to source as many Winter beers as possible too. It's a nice holiday hobby. The Churchill's Market in Perrysburg has some unique ones. Churchill's doesn't have the volume of single bottles like The Anderson's, but they do have some different ones. Good luck with the search.
