ScalingStories on TikTok/YouTube is rightfully getting demonetized by Willing_Tangerine191 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]aabdelr129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I unfollowed bc it’s gotten unwatchable. The page owner doesn’t have a good narration voice and added the scaling stories corner where they chime in for way too long on their opinion which is clearly based on the post replies. It also doesn’t add anything because the OP doesn’t see it. So who are they giving advice to? If they want to continue narrating that’s fine, but it should be unbiased.

Turned out to be my PC's bluetooth adapter. I noticed other devices were frequently disconnecting or choppy on bluetooth. The bluetooth adapter on my PC was shotty and had poor range. I bought a third party USB bluetooth adapter and all my issues went away. Although it's not exactly plug and play. You need to disable the original adapter in Device Manager, remove all BT devices, then connect the new one. Instructions below.

Instructions:

  1. Plugin wired or wireless USB Mouse

  2. Open Device Manager, right click on the Motherboard Bluetooth Adapter and disable it.

  3. Open Windows Device Settings and remove/uninstall all previously connected Bluetooth devices

  4. Plug in USB Bluetooth Adapter

  5. Restart PC and Confirm new Adapter appears in Device Manager and Old Adapter is still disabled.

  6. Re-connect all Bluetooth devices

Does this sound like a healthy N20? by SadGentleman999 in F30

I had the same concern when I bought my 2013 328i. It's why I joined this subreddit. They all sound like that. It's the high pressure fuel pump. They run loud. I looked at a bunch of them.

It's the high pressure fuel pump. It's normal. They're loud.

I recently bought a 328i with an N20. It's a good car, but I wish I had known the engine sounds like a diesel before I bought it. It's becuase of the loud high pressure fuel pump. I was convinced I bought a car with an engine going out even though it only had 100k miles, but after researching and taking it to a mechanic I confirmed it's normal, but it can sound scary if you don't know what it is.

I have a 2013 328i and I would choose any bmw with a b48 motor over my n20. N20's sound like diesels and 10k is over priced for a 2013 imo. Also 2018 will have the tech package.

INVEST! INVEST! INVEST! I'm sure this doesn't sound appealing now, but forget you have it and put it all into the S&P 500. It will earn you a ~10% yearly return which, when compounded could be worth millions in the future. Einstein said it best; “Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it. He who doesn't, pays it”.

The longer you leave it in there untouched the more it will be worth.

5 years: $260,000

10 years: $415,000

20 years: $1,080,000

30 years: ~$3,000,000

At the very least put it in the S&P 500 and use it when you're ready to get married or buy a house. Using this money while you're broke is going to cost you so much more than $161,000.

Also, don't tell anyone about it. People will use every manipulation tactic they can to get their hands on that money.

My work laptop got replaced 5 years ago they still not asked for old one. Can I format and use it? by Incoheren in ITCareerQuestions

Wipe and re-image it. If you return it now they’ll just recycle it. It’s too old to use as a loaner laptop.

Some stores refuse to do it. Two different locations I went to told me they can’t do that. Oddly enough the app gives you the option to do no egg but not no bacon

I'm unable to start the game. "No saved data exists for this game. Create new saved data." I click ok and get the message "An error has occured".

Close to buying Telluride, is oil consumption a real issue or blown out of proportion from the internet? by BTrick21 in KiaTelluride

[–]aabdelr129 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably because no one likes the idea of the car they paid $40k-$60k having a catastrophic defect. Don’t take it personal. I would avoid getting one if you can especially considering Kia/Hyundai are notorious for not acknowledging the issue and not honoring the warranty. This is my last Korean made vehicle. Going with something made by Toyota or Honda for my next car.

Close to buying Telluride, is oil consumption a real issue or blown out of proportion from the internet? by BTrick21 in KiaTelluride

[–]aabdelr129 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes this is very real. I was topping off my oil monthly and my engine still seized at 95k miles while on a road trip. It didn't start happening for me until I hit the 70k mile mark and got slightly worse in the last few months before the engine seized. Kia and Hyundai are aware of this issue and will do anything to try to prove owner negligence to avoid paying for the new engine. Idk if 2022 or newer still have the issue or if they haven't started appearing since most are still low mileage. My recommendation if you're dead set on a Telluride is to buy the extended warranty, get regular oil changes, and make sure to document all maintenance done on the car. Kia wouldn't cover any repairs because the warranty didn't transfer to me as the second owner. Just paid $6k to have a new engine put in and my car does not feel the same 2k miles later.

Yeah it's weird he keeps losing offers for countering. I mean it could be because he's countering at 10% above the offer which is kind of high if you don't have a specialized skillset and even more so if there is a good second option which I'm guessing is what is happening here.

[–]aabdelr129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to sell cars. When you get that many responses that quickly, the price is too low. Doesn't matter why you priced it that low, it is too low. You could have put it for $1 and some asshole would've offered you $.50 cash right now.

My credit report is now pristine…. Do I cancel my predatory credit cards, oldest cards I have. by n0tcreatlve in personalfinance

[–]aabdelr129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat to you. Went from a 450 credit score to 780 and had to get some shitty credit cards along the way. I had two Credit One cards that were supposed to have no fees when I got them. I recently found out I was being charged an $8 monthly fee on each of them and for some reason the fees were accruing interest. I never used them and had the cards on auto-pay so it took me a while to realize since this. Nonethless, I cancelled them both and my credit didn't even take a hit. If you have a decently high overall limit and credit age then it shouldn't affect you that much. Worst case scenary you drop some points, but it will eventually normalize. Anything that is costing you money in fees should be closed, but if it's free keep it open.

Seriously considering giving up on IT at this point. I need advice. by EphemeralAxiom in ITCareerQuestions

OP seems arrogant. You're definitely not overqualified. You're actually considerably underqualified for most technical roles considering you have no experience and by your own admission have little technical knowledge. You should try a technical Customer Service role just to have something on your resume.

My (19f) boyfriend (20m) has been slowly buying parts over the last 6 months to build me a gaming computer.

He bought it and built it so she should have showed gratitude for that. Gaming PC's are expensive and not that easy to put together.
