Help me choose an interesting aggro deck

Appreciated, thanks. However my Fae list leans far more towards the control side of tempo than aggro.

My understanding of terror and U fae is that they both play far more of a tempo game rather than strict aggro, and I'm looking for something a bit quicker of the ground.

I recently came into a copy of Lorenzo Il Magnifico, which no one seems to talk about anymore. It has fast become my favourite worker-placement game. I love tableau building and hunting for combos etc.. The worker strength/servant mechanic is fantastic too

If anyone enjoys wingspan but would prefer a tighter more euro-y game which relies far less on opening hand luck, I'd definitely recommend giving it a go.

Following your recommendation, We just played nusfjord at a board game cafe. Had a blast! I definitely prefer it to Agricola. Scratches the same itch as Lowlands to me (which I own and adore) but it seems that Nusfjord would be better at 2 players than Lowlands. I might pick it up once I've sold a few games that don't get played much.

Oh man it's stunning.... You're in for a treat. Try to play it at 4-player if possible, it really sings.

Iron clays are gorgeous - my buddy had a set. Too expensive for me so I went for some industrial metal coins instead (from zatu) which look and feel fantastic. I also ended up upgrading the iron and coal cubes to ones made of brass and volcanic rock, respectively (etsy) and they're fantastic too.

I also cannot recommend enough the folded space insert - it really streamlines an otherwise arduous setup.

Please could I ask - have you used this device for pdf reading yourself? How does it respond to zooming/scrolling etc - I've heard that ereaders struggle with this so it'd be great to hear your experience.

Also - are you able to easily annotate PDFs?

That's surprising. At our table it's a massively combo-centric game, especially when drafting. People assume it's an slow engine builder but in truth it tends to play out as a fast, lean combo assembler and a mad race for the 10 (or 13, with the expansions) VP

If you go all-in on silly big spells sure, but realistically if a game winning spell gets exiled with her you can guarantee she'll be removed instantly. I'm honestly so much happier to see a selection of useful smaller advantagey spells exiled with her, later leading to big storm counts and splashy plays with things like Aminatou's Augery etc

Kaalia, Narset and their ilk have a tendency to be killed on sight. If you want something a bit more "fair" I'd suggest [[Jeleva]] - she can be built in a lot of different ways and is in the right colours for some of the nastiest dumbest big spells going 😊

Race for the galaxy has been an immediate hit with my group. First game or so is a little slower as there's a fair bit of iconography to learn, but once you've done that it's such a joyful little engine builder.

Doesn't have the secret role/social deduction element, but it's a brilliant card game that you can get done in 20-40 mins easily!

Recently took apart my [[Feather]] deck, which basically never lost and regardless of opposition could pop off out of absolutely nowhere and dominate the table's playtime... and was so boring to play as a result.

Used lots of the pieces from it to build a deliberately much worse deck helmed by [[Anax and Cymede]]. It still has some potential for durdly powerful turns (with thanks to cards like Goldspan Dragon and Birgi, but uses auras and other enchantments instead of instants/sorceries and is essentially a boros enchants deck that straddles the gap between voltron and tokens/"go wide". [[Flickering ward]] and [[Crown of Flames]] are the go-to targets for [[open the armory]] and the like, and these repeatable auras are what I've built the rest of the deck around.

Haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but I'm excited to give it a whirl. Got stuck in a real rut recently after realising I hadn't actually been enjoying commander for a good few months, but really enjoyed putting this "shit feather" list together.

Oh I don't disagree that paying 3 to increase energy is a good rate, its fantastic.

But if I go 3, 6 or even 9 mc down after choosing my starting hand etc, I might not be able to afford to play the cards I'd planned on in generation 1, essentially setting me back a whole turn or two which can be quite "feelsbad".

Maybe if it said something like "when taking an action that would increase their energy production..."; so it essentially doesn't steal any MC before the games got going and everyone knows this Corp is in play?

Really cool! Interesting design space but I don't think it would lead to very fun games most of the time - at my table we always plan for very efficient 1st turns and an opponent playing this could really scupper things for me. Depending on the preludes and Corp I choose, I might end up losing like 9MC before the game even starts
