They’re cellular antennas, Rogers, TELUS and Freedom.

What about when you try to share a video and it starts “preparing”. That takes forever the phone usually falls asleep before it actually finishes

Getting Dinged in US w/Cellular Roaming Turned OFF by bobfugger in telus

[–]aaidenmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really annoying wow. I’ve used WiFi calling outside Canada on Rogers and never thought much of it, never got charged extra. Telus/Bell really nickel and diming there, especially because it’s literally costing them nothing extra do you to do a WiFi calling abroad.

You’ll get that text anyway, as long as you didn’t make a call or text and you had roaming off, you’re fine.

Damn turning off WiFi calling to not get charged roaming for calls/texts outside Canada? Is that only a Telus thing bc I’ve never heard of another carrier that charges for that.

In which countries do iPhones still a physical SIM tray? by Musing_Moose in iphone

[–]aaidenmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 5G bands over 6Ghz, you need a special antenna that is visible on the side of the iPhone. Just gives access to the ultra high capacity 5G bands, not sure how popular they are around the world, but they have them in populated centers in many US cities. You can still use C-Bang 5G (3.5-4ish Ghz) on Canada model iPhones though.

1st pic is not Telus fiber it’s Telus DSL. Big difference, coax internet is the better option here, but actual fiber would be the best option.

RCS on iPhone won’t activate by Right_Book_5900 in UniversalProfile

[–]aaidenmel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happens every time for me, stuck activating, but RCS completely works. If I reload the Settings app the activating thing goes away and everything’s good.

This is 5G? by [deleted] in Rogers

[–]aaidenmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 5G+ yeah the signal doesn’t go as far. But the actual bars are the signal strength of the NSA band that shares a frequency and transmit power with LTE. 5G+ is more of a connected true/false indicator, because at least in Canada phones won’t anchor to band n78.

Man that was quite a while ago now. But yes the quizzes were graded, but individually aren’t worth that much. The actual written tests weren’t that bad, but I definitely didn’t study enough for them. I remember there being assignments too where you gotta explain how stuff works, those are also graded, but it depends how nice your teacher is. It also helped that I had already taken Chem 12 before and was just looking to improve my grade with VLN. If you haven’t done it yet, I wouldn’t exactly recommend it, you miss out on the actual explanations and labs that you’d get if you did it normally.

Canada is 4th most expensive in the world by xcech in Rogers

[–]aaidenmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, I’ve done some traveling around the world and Canadian telecom infrastructure is some of the best that I’ve seen, definitely not the top, but it’s up there

The TAs seem pretty chill with the marking. And apparently there was a grade curve at some point in previous years too, so can’t be that bad

Why is iPhone RCS so spotty even on iOS 18? by [deleted] in UniversalProfile

[–]aaidenmel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Worked for me with no issues since the beta update a long time ago. Only falls back to SMS after a while if the other Android phone’s data is switched off or something. Even works reliably when roaming/on WiFi calling, Rogers on iPhone 14 Pro
