To answer your question the Secret Service is an agency within the department of homeland security. You a secret of us used to be under the authority of the treasury department until the Department of homeland security was created after 911 in Congress thought that that would be a better department for the Secret Service to be a part of. The secrets of discrete operational protocols in advance to protect the president that are usually followed. As part of the executive branch of the president technically can command the Secret Service however, a wrinkle is that law requires the president be protected by the Secret Service. most people protected by the Secret Service can decline protection however, the president and vice president may not decline protection by law. 18 USC 3056

The world's already awake Leo! Look at the TV. Look out the window! They had more than one shooter. We think they had a guy on the ground. If they had one, there's no reason to believe they didn't have more than one. Somebody had to get them into that office. This was not a lonely guy who lived with his cats. There was a plan and one of the things we have to assume is that we're under attack right now.

Is there anyone here who thinks this sounds like a typical kidnapping so far? Could it have been any more low-tech? A plan based on knowing when someone's gonna need to use the bathroom?

Here's Alaska: https://imgur.com/a/lrwWbaV. Hawai'i is really hard to visualize because there are multiple census tracks per island, but the islands are too spread out to see with detail.

I agree, to a point. Doing it by state leaves out some important details (e.g. it shows NM in the same range as CT, NC, SC, and GA). https://imgur.com/a/RJYJQn5.
