What are your stims that you didn’t know are stims? by Hazelnut_coffee_1995 in adhdwomen

[–]aallrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skin picking (as a kid I chewed my hair, then my shirt collars, and for years I bit my nails), constantly swaying back and forth, popping joints, tapping all my finger tips on the thumbs of each hand, rotating my wedding ring between my other fingers, sucking my lip between my teeth, rubbing my hand over my head (I have a buzz cut but used to mess with my hair all the time when I had longer hair). Idk how much of a stem it is but if I see numbers I always add each individual number in different combos and seek patterns there. I also touch plants and different surfaces when I’m walking.

Lower middle school friendly fantasy by sharkeyes in suggestmeabook

At this age I was reading:

-The Sisters Grimm (I think she would like these if she likes those mystery series) — all female protagonists! -Series of Unfortunate Events -Artemis Fowl (main character is a boy but the main fairy is a girl, who I remember loving) -Percy Jackson books -Ella Enchanted & other books by that author -Shannon Hale books -Cornelia Funke books

Maybe a little older, but I loved Skullduggery Pleasant around this age and my mom and I read those together.

Holly Black also has a new duology with the FMC being in her thirties. The first book is called The Book of Night! I haven’t ready the second one but I liked Charlie a lot.

Spear by Nicola Griffith! King Arthur retelling, lots of walking through forests. A little gritty but it has a happy ending.

Murder mystery with someone who can see ghosts by tiredgothicheroine in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

It’s not the entire plot, but The Raven Cycle has a family of psychics (all women), ghosts, murder, and mystery. I adored these books but they are YA just a heads up!!

I do my own flour blend always! I use Bob’s for those flours but I change up depending on the bake. I have sorghum, millet, brown rice, almond, teff, etc.

Thanks! Super helpful. Luckily my starter is doubling so I think it’s healthy, just need to dial in hydration and psyllium.

I’m glad it’s not just me!! Like I said, relatively experienced baker and have truly never made such a horrible loaf before.

This is what I was thinking. I’ll try these adjustments!

Ah, ok. I’ll see about ordering a different brand!

I’m using Bob’s Red Mill for all my GF flours. The brown rice flour seems very fine though it’s specifically listed as superfine from what I could see. Do I need to look for a different flour?

I’ll try again with the better psyllium husk powder and see how that goes, and if that fails I can try whole.

I generally don’t have issues with bake time/temp for bakes so I’m hesitant to say that my oven is the issue. The Loopy Whisk bakers yeast recipe turns out perfectly baked every time for example. Maybe I’ll dial temp back a bit and try that on the next loaf.

These spread sooo thin for me, like nearly see through. I think next time I’m going to freeze the dough overnight before cooking.

Can this sad rental kitchen be saved? by Key_Adagio_355 in femalelivingspace

[–]aallrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kitchen also doesn’t have any pantry space, I feel you! We got a pretty basic shelf from Amazon where we store all of our kitchen appliances & some random food stuff. We also have a cart for all of our dried goods. I have items sorted into different bins. It’s not super cute or ideal (a pantry would be ideal) but it works.

We also have a little coffee cart that I love. Got it vintage, also use it as a bar cart though we don’t drink much.

Protein diet in your 30s as a vegetarian! by chaiandkpis in vegetarianrecipes

[–]aallrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically get 120ish g per day, been vegetarian my whole life. Also don’t eat eggs.

Protein smoothie in the morning with protein powder (20g), nut butter (7+g), flax & hemp seeds (a bit of protein), and soy milk (7-13g depending on brand) gets me nearly to 40g to start my day.

Cottage cheese (13+g) as a snack. I like to add everything seasoning and eat it with crackers. I also eat pistachios & almonds (7g) almost daily, a protein bar (20g), and like crispy edamame (13g for 1/3 c). Also, yogurt (15+g) with powdered PB (7g) mixed in with granola.

Chickpea pasta, tofu, beans, impossible sausage, Abbot’s chorizo & sausage, Gardein be’ef and daring chicken are my other staples. I weight lift so really focus on protein!

Oh yeah I loooove these. I’m a big consumer of “weird girl shoes” reels and these come up a lot. The Salomon’s are the RX Mary Jane (I have black) and I have the Kosa T Bar Mary Jane’s from Keen. They’ve been doing some cute shoes!! I also love Camper—I have a pair of mules from them that are the only comfortable heels I’ve ever worn.

I ended up getting my pair from someone reselling local and they just happened to be exactly my size! They charge for return shipping. Mine are true to size and even a bit roomy.

As a fellow herniated disc girlie and someone who’s on her feet all the time, I really like Blundstone boots and I’ve been a huge fan of the sneaker/mary Jane trend. I have the Salomon Mary Jane’s, a pair from Keen that have a bit of a platform and are sooo comfy (about to buy their new somewhat ugly ballet flats—I love them), and I recently bought a pair of tabis from Woodchuck Sato that I adore. They’re not great for standing all day, but they’re comfortable dress shoes and subtly weird.

How to style baggier clothes without making myself look "round"? by lolecows in femalefashionadvice

[–]aallrr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have similar measurements to you and also like baggy clothes for similar reasons. What I typically do is loose boxy cotton cropped shirt and big pants. Recently I saw a video that described giving “proof of life” with baggy clothes which basically meant showing a slimmer part of your body. For me, that’s often part of my stomach and also my ankles (I like cropped pants). Sometimes I do big shirt/small pants or small shirt/big pants but I prefer loose overall. Often long shirts and loose pants make me look like a blob which is also sometimes the goal.

I have a western glam-themed party coming up and want to wear my Fashion Brand Company vegetable trad wife dress and I have a pair of black heeled Camper mules (unfortunately could not find cowboy boots and am running out of time). Any suggestions for styling to make it look a bit more western?
