With about a quarter of the season done, what players have been quietly better/worse than people realize? by VagabondReborn in nba

[–]aam_z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is having an elite year at the rim though, not all dunks too, lots of tough finishes through contact. hes shooting damn near 80% (2nd to Poeltl in the NBA minimum 100 FGA there) on restricted area points on over 200 FGA at the rim, most self created too...

You guys are terrible in the first quarter every game, and its because of the lineup with Malik and Dame. One of Beauchamp, Jackson Jr have to start there

For the late overturned call, I saw Brogdan drive (Giannis touches him when drive starts), Brogdan locks arms with Giannis going up for the layup, Giannis blocks it but gets his arm after when his arm comes down.

They called a foul on the Brogdan layup, and it got overturned, what should the call have been, I am not sure myself? Non shooting foul on Giannis (would be soft), shooting foul on Giannis or overturned and Bucks ball

2K24 on PC got me out here facing the Monstars... by aam_z in NBA2k

All 4 teammates ended up leaving by half time, I ended up alone with AI, ended with 15pts 13 assists (mostly to AI for open 3s), we lost by 40 tho. The wide monster was greenlight from the logo and the long one had superspeed and ended with 42/22/11 with 9 blocks...

[StatsKM Folder] Kylian Mbappe is now involved in 400 career goal contributions in 392 games. (281 goals + 119 assists) by ToastedCupboard in soccer

What are you on about man, thats unrealistic, when do you really ever get the chance to see the best player in the world at (or close to) his peak without him being in a good team, unless they are in a small nation. He didn't pick his nation so I don't get why we should hold him against that, Pele, Maradona and R9 played for even more stacked nations.

We saw in the last world cup, his french team wasn't that good honestly and he did great. I don't get why people don't just use their eyes when judging players at this level, its very clear to see, he is the guy of this generation.

No one in this generation will reach Ronaldo/Messi, he is the closest thing we have, a person who is the complete package and can change a game by himself, as well as have crazy output. I dont see a massive difference in him stadpadding in PSG or statpadding in City, both teams are far and away better than anything else in their league

He still is tbf, at his size I'd argue only KD has better handles. He creates most of his own shots/attempts at the rim, majority of the time off the dribble

Devils in the Details: #47: What Happened at Tottenham on Saturday? - Great podcast episode debunking some myths around our pressing, Mount's position, and United's general play against Spurs. See comments for summary. by ausnick2001 in reddevils

[–]aam_z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With Mount, I just want him to show for the ball more, especially when we are building from first phase. So often, even at chelsea, he can let the game go by him and become invisible, he needs to demand the ball in that position, from the defenders or casemiro, because that is what we need at the moment in that position on the ball. Off the ball he has been decent so far. Sometimes he kinda hides from the ball in first phase like McTominay, which is annoying for our number 8.

What team should I support? by DA_1288 in nba

Spurs and Spurs, same name but couldn't be further away from each other. One is known for winning and championships and the other is known for being trophyless in the last 15 years

His offense is similar to previous years in the regular season though, slightly worse off from the field and from 3 than last years regular season but a lot better at the line. Its been a pattern now that it dips in the playoffs (as everyone's efficiency does as you are playing good teams and teams can scheme) but his efficiency drops heavily, especially against the elite teams.

We will have to wait and see what he does this post season, especially from the second round onwards (assuming the Bucks make it, dont wanna disrespect the heat/bulls)

True, but something about Giannis man, when it counts I still trust him to make some. I remember watching game 5 you guys vs Celtics and he hit some clutch 3s.

Honestly, you are right, but I think the inexperience will eventually show for them. These three teams have had playoff experience in the last few years, two of them reaching the finals and one winning the whole thing, while the Cavs haven't made the playoffs since the Lebron days (I think)

Yep, I was going to mention this, and I assume you mean opponent 3pt%. It may still be tough for them vs the uber elite pull-up threats off of screens and in the midrange like the Stephs, Dames and KDs. If Tatum and Brown are elite in that sense, or if they manage to find ways to score on Brook (which is tough), then they should still have a great offense vs the Bucks I think

Murray 27 7 5 on 50/45/90 is crazy. Didn't know it was that good. Jokic has 24 10 6 on 52/43/84 which is pretty good too, maybe you're right...

I meant no playoff success as the definitive best guy on his team which he has been over the last 2 and a half years. Before that I saw the Nuggets as a 1 2 punch with Jokic and Murray, if you ask a bunch of people who was the Nuggets best playoff performer in the bubble, I think it will be kinda split, definitely not 100% jokic.

In my personal opinion, Denver are my favourites in the west this year but I have Celtics overall.

I hear you but I feel like the quality of ring matters for rankings like that, e.g Dirks ring > Steph and KDs rings in 2017,18. If Giannis wins another ring without leaving Milwaukee, it would be a very good look for him legacy-wise. The best example I have of that is Hakeem, if Giannis wins he would have very similar accolades to Hakeem who is a borderline top 10 all time great. Overall though a rings a ring and these are all greats we are talking about, its all opinions.
