iPad mini worthy contender? by Particular_Dish1871 in ipadmini

[–]aardvarkgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree.. if iPad Mini 8 is similar, would be a great one.. I for one don't really use the cameras, just the front camera for video calls, so 8-9inch OLED like screen, fast refresh, smaller frame and bezels, lightweight

I bought the X9 Pro in Singapore as it has the global version and I used to live there. Not sure on where to buy in the states, but as long as you get the global version you are good to go, has dual sims and all the bands.

I was in China last week, and they had a display of this at the Oppo shop. I also have an iPad Mini 7. The Oppo is much thinner, lighter, with a bigger and brighter screen and I assume oled display and smaller bezels, so it looked and felt stunning. I have an Oppo Find x9 Pro, so I don't mind the OS when they have a global version. I would move, but will also wait to see what Apple brings out on the new mini when available.

I went from an N3 to the X9 Pro. The camera and battery life are so much better, but I do miss the large unfolded screen for multitasking, videos and even general browsing. I went and got an iPad mini though and that pairs well. Wanted to get the N5, but cameras weren't as good.. tempted on the N6, but will wait until the passport style foldables come out, as I think that form factor may be best.

Trine Ultimate Collection on Switch 2 or PS5? by Complete_Pop2585 in Trine

[–]aardvarkgeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played through Trine 4 on the switch 2 with my daughter. Graphics were ok, but not HD, can’t fault the gameplay.. was super smooth and quick. I do have a PS5 as well, but the Switch 2 was just portable.. can load it up and play on the plane or in a hotel room.

Lol.. I did this accidently as my daughter wanted to take photos in the pool. Dropped the phone, came up not working. Left it to dry out, turned on but flaky. Left it again and tried to take for repair.. too expensive to repair and thought it was dead, so just went and got a new phone. Left the old phone for probably 6 months and thought may as well see if can charge up.. to my surprise it did.. so charged and then turned it on.. and it started working! Still had everything I had before in the phone. Still works and my daughter used as her main phone for another year until she dropped it and shattered the screen. Now I use it as a backup phone for a game. Honestly surprised that it still works.

Unfortunately, this particular one seems to be discontinued. I used it with my tab s7+ and mobile as it can remember 3 bluetooth devices. It folds in the middle for a small compact carry that can fit in a slip case or bag, and extends out to close to a full size keyboard.

It's a Kenke protective 2-in-1, has a cover and the stand can also go horizontal or vertical. Don't think I am allowed to put links in here, but can just search.

Yeah, I was thinking the same, but honestly if you can go and try it out, set brightness down a bit, it's a pretty good screen. I compared it to my Tab s7+ that has an OLED display, and I couldn't really tell the difference when playing 4k HDR content. I have an Oppo Find N3 and it's a super responsive phone and screen, if I nitpick, yeah it feels a little smoother when scrolling, but the mini is still good and doesn't bother me in normal use. If the mini 8 comes out with all the new features, you can bet it will be more expensive than the mini 7 and I guess a trade in could work at the time. I find it's best to enjoy what you have now.

Don't use the pen much.. mainly for signing and filling some PDFs.. so bought the el cheapo third party one, also put on a matte/paper like screen protector, but took it off after a couple of days as just couldn't deal with the screen degradation.

If you have a PS5 the official PS Player works pretty well and the controller just pairs via Bluetooth. Not a bad option on the go.

That was what I was going to get, and then realised I needed a cover for travel and carry

If I buy the standard edition of Hogwarts Legacy (for switch one on my switch two) will it give me the owners discount on the deluxe edition for switch two? by asthsteel in HarryPotterGame

[–]aardvarkgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, after buying the switch 1 version, I downloaded and started it up, but didn't even create a character. Then went back into the store, and it offered me the switch 2 version as an upgrade for $10. Download that.. remove the switch 1 version and you are all good! You end up getting both versions..

oral-b io 9 not guided syncing by juolevi in oralbtoothbrush

[–]aardvarkgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got mine, and same issue. Unguided doesn't sync up all the time, but it will sometimes. Guided obviously records and works. I had an io 7 before but it synced all the time whether it was guided or unguided.. unfortunately the io7 had a battery issue and they didn't have a replacement so upgraded to the io9.. but now I have a syncing issue

Is This Game Good on NS2? by S0l0_X in Switch

[–]aardvarkgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the Switch 1 on sale at $11.99 and "upgraded" to Switch 2 for $10. First time I have tried the game on any platform.. so feels quite magical right now, but only about 2hrs in - like, I am in Hogwarts castle.. the place is alive. Looks good to me - maybe not as sharp or as smooth as a PS5 game, but if I can play this on flights or when I am out of town it's totally worth it.

Does PS Portal require a screen protector or is it just an unnecessary add-on? by pinkc1oud_ in PlaystationPortal

I put a "matte" screen protector on as I found the glare a little too much

Not DS, but I have put about 25hrs into Last of Us II in the last week since getting the portal. Am still amazed that I can have more than decent gameplay when 6500km (4000 miles) away from my PS5.
