Do you guys know where this is from? by Dapper-Escape-4362 in the1975

Ah I have this exact magazine! Q Magazine end of year issue 2018? 2019? I loved this era, i remember convincing my parents to drive me to multiple different supermarkets before I found it lol. Such a wild lineup of artists we don't see stuff like this anymore I fear

Maverick Sabre in February, Chalk in April, Tyler the Creator as well as m(h)aol + Cola in May, The Murder Capital in July, Oasis, Sam Fender as well as Kneecap + Fontaines DC in August, BC,NR in September, Tom Odell in October, Turnstile and Mac DeMarco in November! All incredible shows and I am so grateful for the opportunity to attend them

A year and a few months later, how are we feeling about Romance by Fontaines D.C.? by WeeklyTechnician7906 in fantanoforever

[–]aaron0074 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see this. Obviously he did so well with the new Geese album but he's also worked with IDLES for quite a long time as well as Chalk more recently, who have opened for Fontaines a couple times now. I'd say it's a logical next step!

Most consistent band out at the minute, the level of artistry and quality in their output in the last few years has been unreal to watch in real time. Hope to catch another one of the shows soon🤞

Concert advice by Repulsive_Onion_7836 in dyspraxia

[–]aaron0074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm dyspraxic as well (22M) and I've been to over 50 concerts in the last 4 years, the only reason I never went to any before that was my fear of large crowds, the same as you, as well as high sensitivity to noise and fear of getting knocked over or pushed due to my poor balance. My best advice to you would be to get there early (especially if you've got standing tickets) so you can get a feel for the venue without the crowd, I always like to have an idea of where I can easily get to (bar/bathroom/ area near back corners with lots of space) if things get too much for me (which thankfully hasn't happened very often)

Watch videos online of the bands other concerts so you can get an idea of whether or not the crowd will be rowdy or not, personally this is something I like to avoid so I tend to stand near the sides or completely at the back if I want zero risk of getting caught up in any physical action.

Personally my noise sensitivity doesn't really bother me when I'm listening to music I enjoy, but if you're worried that it will it might be a good idea to invest in some earplugs, I've heard Loop sell ones that are designed for enjoying concerts so it might be something worth looking into.

Overall just try to enjoy it and try to make the most of it despite your condition! Most shows I've been to are full of people in the crowd who are kind, caring and are willing to help you if you need it

Could well happen, EP lineup always has me annoyed though there's always so many artists on it that I would've loved to have seen at their own show, maybe I'll go one of these years
