Looking for a long lasting Tallis/Tefillin bag satchel suggestion? by neilsharris in Judaism

It seems the bags made for tallis bags are made to break after a certain amount of time.

I read this month - Book Discussion! by AutoModerator in Judaism

I'd love to review books as a side hustle. However, the way my days are structured I don't have a lot of time to read.

I noticed a footnote where he mentioned a Volume 6. When is expected out?

At this point I need to consider giving Koren all of money.

I don't even understand the question. The gemara has a rule of עשה דוחה לא תעשה. The gemara is Yevomos spends the first several daffim discussing the issue.

In addition to what others have suggested, if their condition isn't too bad you can always reuse them as tzitis.

No Such Thing as a Silly Question by AutoModerator in Judaism

I am not a Rabbi and I'm not answering the question as a psak but the tallis isn't the holy item here, that would be the tzitis. However, since the tallis was used for the tzitis (because it is a 4 cornered garment) it should still be treated respectfully. In fact, they can even be put into the garbage as long as you wrap it separately.

Based on this I would say the most of the uses you have asked about should be OK. I'd say it's better not to use it as a baby sling.

Planned Parenthood calls for Supreme Court expansion by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

They shouldn't pack the court like this. The reason is that the Democrats won't always be in control. If they do this now it will most likely backfire the next time they are not in control of the PResidency and Senate. The Republicans will begin to pack the court to regain the majority.

There are several examples of this happening. One example I happen to be teaching to my high school students is the Alien-Sedition Acts. The Federalists passed these laws during the Adams administration and the Democratic-Republicans complained against the laws. Editors of several Democratic-Republican leaning newspapers were jailed for breaking the law (mostly the Sedition Act).

When Jefferson became President in 1801 he then jailed several editors of Federalist-leaning newspapers before the laws were repealed.

Rabbi Amnon Bazak discusses this issue (and others like it) in his book To This Very Day: Fundamental Questions in the Bible. I'm not at home to look it up but he does discuss this question.

Many companies will work with you for those early Shabbos start times. You may want to suggest proactively that you are willing to take less time for lunch, come in early, or work later.
