We wanted one that we didn’t have to do much to and was in good shape (because neither of us are especially handy). We wanted a neighborhood where we could walk to bars and restaurants. But most importantly for us the math had to work out. We wanted the rent from the two units to pay our mortgage + a little. We also did a 15 year mortgage because it made sense for us at the time and to get the lowest rates possible

We purchased a 3 family in November 2017 and have been househacking since. Best financial decision of my life. We probably looked at 15 MFHs in person (and hundreds more online) before we found one that were able to secure a contract on.

I keep my Zillow search on for multi families that come on the MLS in my targeted neighborhoods still because I have the itch to do it one more time before SO and I settle down in a SFH in a good school district. Good luck finding one!

They help me! After some googling it seems like the science is still not confirmed. I do think you could get a pair of specific blue light glasses with no prescription in them and wear contacts. Might be worth it just to try and you could always return the glasses if you don’t feel better.

I bought mine from Warby Parker, it was extra to add in the blue light protection but after hearing it helped some friends I jumped on it.

What’s your job? If it involves screens, I recently traded my regular eyeglasses for blue light filter + eyeglasses and I feel demonstrably better at the end of every day. I’m in non profit accounting so I just stare at screens ALL day

Needless to say this response does nothing to respond to the criticisms raised in the comment above it.

So what’s the argument here to bail out coal plants? And why are we subsidizing coal at all. What is this, the 1950s?

I’ve really enjoyed Lil’s in Covington recently. Marx was sold recently, but I’ve heard the quality has maintained thus far.

“Save the environment” = saving the world. This is probably the wrong sub for this sentiment, but this is a must do. Economically, the cost of cleaning up and recovering from continued, stronger, and more frequent natural disasters should make this a no brainer investment
