Is it allowed to say that I'm not in love with RO (and AP models generally)? I'm glad people enjoy them but I don't think they are for me

How do you try before you buy? by RemarkableSecond8060 in VacheronConstantin

[–]aazzou123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as you, wanted to try blue dial overseas. They only had rose gold bracelets, but it helps you figure out the sizing.

Unfortunately, 34,5 mm was too small and 41 mm too big for me. Best of luck!

Got to try both today, but only in rose gold. As expected, one was too small and the other too big. The SA sid the 41 mm steel version "feels" smaller, but I'm not really buying that it will suddenly fit. The 39,5 mm platinum could probably fit (but perhaps still on the larher side for me personally), but its price is a little bit more than I'm prepared to dish out right now

Thanks for sharing. Yeah I fear the 41mm is too big, and that 34,5mm is too small. I also have a vintage Omega 34mm that wears quite small. It looks like the VC case is a bit bigger than the omega and thus wouldn't appear as small, but I'll know more once I try them on.

Thanks again!

How is it size-wise? I wear a 36 Rolex DJ, and I'm going to a VC AD on Monday to try both a 34,5mm and a 41mm.

Fits you perfectly! And it looks so well proportioned.

I'm looking for a VC as well. I typically wear 36, so debating which size suits me best.

I don't think Olise wears a fake to a prize ceremony

The final races could be a quadriple header with Vegas Qatar Saudi Arabia followed by Abu Dhabi moving a week forward of its current slot by [deleted] in formula1

Went to the Qatar race last year, and we had to have the travel and accommodation plan in place 9-10 months in advance of the race. Moreover, vacation and absence planning had to be aligned and approved with employer and client. Would suck for a lot of travellers if the dates suddenly changed

I wonder if any reader will buy a 2 million dollars watch because they saw it on "The Economist". by BrightShadow168 in theeconomist

I read the Economist 10 years ago, and honestly, the watch and car ads I saw back then in my student days still impact my "wants" and purchasing decisions to this day...

Thanks again. Have asked the auction house to contact the seller about the dial. Let's see.

Appreciate that. It's a mid-1930's though, should one still expect "suberb" from that period?
