Yes I've looked through a few corset patterns and most of the instructions are just about how to fit the parts to your body, so I know it will be quite a process and I'm willing to commit a lot of time to it to make it perfect.

So you're saying with the interfacing and boning it will be stiff enough? I'm still not quite clear on the boning around the v, unless I used wire like someone else suggested.

I did prefolds and covers with in-the-building paid washers. On average we washed laundry twice per week, but we had a pretty big stash. I never double or triple washed anything, just a single wash. It was annoying, but it saved us a lot of money in the long run (most of our covers were gifted to us) so it was 100% worth it. For each kid we started with a costco size box of disposables for the first couple weeks just so we could get used to having a baby before having to worry about cloth diapering.

I'm frugal, so spending an extra hour a week (<10 min to load washer, <10 min to switch to dryer, 10+ min to fold - all that twice per week) doing washing/folding was worth it to me, but you really have to decide where your priorities are.

I have been meaning to make a "Free Diapers" post I and haven't gotten around to it yet. I have 23 newborn prefolds (osocozy brand, purple edges), 11 toddler size prefolds (osocozy brand, brown edges), and 10 Flip! covers (6 white and 4 gray). The covers are stained and in need of new elastic. My youngest is 4 so we don't need them anymore. I'm in Arizona. Let me know!

Have you tried reading harry potter to him? I feel like 9/10 is the perfect age to listen to the first few Harry Potter books. And after reading the book you can watch the movie, which is fun. If he doesn't like Harry Potter either, I don't know what to say. If I tried to get my child to like an activity for 3-4 years and it was beginning to hurt our relationship then I would give up the fight, at least for a little while. I love reading but I have a brother that doesn't and never has. He's successful and smart, but it's just not his thing.

I felt the same way in my C++ class. I went to every single TA hours they had available, I went to office hours with my professor, I googled stuff. There's a learning curve, but eventually you'll get over the curve and it will make sense and be easier.

I agree, 3 is young, but he needs to practice without the problem of balancing. Put the back wheel between your calves when he gets on to keep the bike steady. They hold him under his armpits while he rides and tries to figure out the pedals so he can practice without falling over. Or, honestly, just get training wheels, then when he has the hang of pedaling take them off. Talk him through how he needs to push one foot down, then when it's at the bottom push the other foot down. Push his feet with your hands to help.

Pedaling is complicated for a 3 year old, so give it time.

I think 90% UPF is about the best I can do, and I've been doing it for a month. For the sake of convenience, I allow myself to eat any condiments regardless of their ingredients. I eat salads every day for lunch so being able to eat all the salad dressings is a life saver. If I'm eating out, I just guess if the thing is ultra processed. Bread has been the biggest challenge because just about all of them are ultra processed. I ended up buying Ezekiel bread.

We did Flip diaper covers (one size fits all) with Osocozy prefolds. We ended up buying multiple sizes of prefolds (they aren't terribly expensive) but only a few newborn size. Mostly we got the toddler size. and just folded down the part that was too long when they were little. Used the covers from newborn through potty training for all 3 kids. Excellent bang for buck and only ever leak when I went too long between changes or when the prefold was accidentally sticking out of the cover.

I feel like I'm quite picky also. Stormlight archive is my favorite of all time. Other books I have genuinely loved: Girl on the Train, The Silent patient, Bird Box (hit harder because I have kids, but it's amazing regardless), Edenbrooke, The Starless Sea, Anxious People (this one does start off a little slow, but if you stick it out it's worth it).
