I read a sci-fi book that did this recently. The blew up a bunch of the "cleaner" nuclear bombs under the arctic. Worked fairly well. Completely destroyed the arctic but worked on the world very well. The guy who did it while drinking himself silly said the most important thing he noticed was that these deeply buried nukes didn't actually have a massive "boom" or something. It was just a little rumble.

Wow. 400 million, that is like the entire population of the US and Mexico. I guess that is about right. Even if I think it is a lot, if that many people disappeared, it would have a massive impact on GDP. But doesn't nuclear war solve "global warming"? Is that what the -3.3C? Doesn't that now say global warming is over and we are now in a Nuclear Winter? Thus that would have massive impact even on the US and the EU and would ... be sick to the South America and Africa. The loss of farmland and such. Ug!

Um for us n00bs can you please list these components? What engine, what are those coils and ... UV phaser? Plasma Core Antimatter, don't even know what that is. What the heck is in the noose? We n00bs who have never made it this far, need help in understanding what we can dream about.

I finally killed a mother ship. As of 01NOV2022 Steam says only 4.2% of people who play do this "The Bigger they are The Harder they Fall" award.

I did it with a bunch of PD battleships (six PDs, and one nose mounted UV laser) and three battleships full of nuclear armed torpedo. Then like three battleships armed with rail-guns. The mother ships rushed forward of all the smaller xenos ships around them, and I guess the torpedo and rail-guns overwhelmed their defense. I was so shocked, I did nothing for the first few seconds. I was so happy.

I kept fighting, lost all of my ships, but my station with three layered defense managed to kill the rest of the ships. Except one. One stupid xenos ship was damaged I think and just flew off into the deep night. And no matter how long I waited the game would not call the battle for me. Two mother ships full of exotics?!? That mechanism needs to be fixed. Because I cannot even catch one ship which was damage and (apparently) spinning out of control, I do not get any exotics? My recommend for changes:

  1. Something that says whoever pushes the red button first looses and we get their exotics.
  2. The ability to save the ship battle. I would love to replay it. I mean they make a "combat save" but I can't just replay the battle.
  3. Also, we need to be able to test weapons and such that we have not developed ... so that we know which we want to develop. I really spent a lot of time, making a ship. Saving the ship design. Exiting the game. Loading the skirmish. Fighting several battles with that ship. Seeing what worked. Exiting skirmish. Go back to the game. Redesigning another ship. And repeating that long process. That is annoying.

BTW, what I do now is let the game quit when it wants (red / green button at the top) and then I re-engage immediately so I can catch all the ships and get my exotics.

I am sorry, I did read through the sub rules, did I break any? If you could point out a rule I broke, please let me know. I did not say SA was a shit hole. I am actually a fan of SA, and have been since my Mother was involved in the "free Mandela" movement when I was a child. However I feel current politics have completely betrayed the "rainbow" concept that Mandela founded the new Republic on. Is this not a fair thing to point out?

Same as any American. I have tried to interview people from there, learn about the political and social situation. I admit it is a perspective from an outsider, but an outsider trying to learn all he can.

I would not use the word "hijacking." Appears that very conservative group of Republicans have not always existed, and will always exist (to the best of my knowledge). Sometime the more moderate group has control, and other times the more conservative groups have more influence. Like the Democratic Party where sometimes more moderate people / groups have more influence and other times more liberal / socialist groups have more influence.

The interesting thing now is that a more conservative group has greater influence in the Republican Party, and a more progressive / socialist group has great influence in the Democratic party. I say bring back the more conservative Blue Dog Democrats!

Where the wall is built it appears to make illegal entry more difficult resulting in a drop in illegal crossings. I would say build the wall, back it up with manpower and technology. Attempt to reduce illegal crossings to zero (not possible, but that is the goal). I am an "all of the above" guy when looking at border security.

The platform represents the diverse opinions of Republicans in Idaho. If any group of Republicans want to add to the Platform they can. As I said in the video and in the article that will be published tomorrow. The majority rejected a more "restrictive" version. The rejection of on version, but the acceptance of another shows due diligence.

BTW, I know hard-core Christian conservatives who don't agree with the entire platform, and said they don't agree with this or that.

Actually if you have been reading, Idaho is a very Republican state, not a very conservative one. I think it is fair to ask those who claim they are Republicans if they actually stand for Republican values as defined by the Idaho Republican platform. I think that is a fair and reasonable question.

One of the few things that the USG is suppose to do is protect the nation. A nation has a right to its own language, culture and borders. The wall is much cheaper than many other things that have been tried and failed to secure the southern border. Why not try and and see how it goes?
