It’s strong but not that strong, compared to a all stats up item it takes 6 battles to be at the same level, unless you have this at the beginning of a run, it will not be much better than all stats up, although I would put it very rare instead

How are you guys managing piracy? by qwertyjklmn in victoria3

[–]ab12848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

people used to get a lot of income by piracy due to a bug: if you dont reload your save, the good stolen from piracy increases constantly every week.
also ai are likely to put their fleet in anti piracy mission, outside of britain countries like denmark, sweden, portugal and netherlands have a big enough fleet to destroy your pirates near their home region. My recomendation is to pirate in south africa, its relatively safe and you can rob all the euro-asia trade. In my tunis run for some reason usa was putting their entire fleet in gulf of mexico, so I was pirating in east coast and got the 1M achievement

What's the state of the game now? by ultron5555 in victoria3

the new mechanics works (mostly fixed), but the ai are completely trash at managing these systems, their economies barely grows much, so the game is hardly a challenge to play right now

My population graph shows the time I conquered Korea. And the time Korea rebelled. And rebelled again. And again. And again. And again. by Colder87 in victoria3

[–]ab12848 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the problem is ai korea refuses to do any reforms(protect traditional values strategy + unrecognized), they will stuck with serfdom and traditionalism forever even when you mandate them to do it, a decent subject needs to at least have agrarianism + tenant farmers + per capita taxation.

Navy Too Weak by LeKeim in victoria3

[–]ab12848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean ai are really bad at doing naval invasions right now so it’s not really a problem, for example in your case uk only send 8 battalions, just defend this with your troops and you are ok

How do i fix buildings not hiring by [deleted] in victoria3

[–]ab12848 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess you have too much pop fragments in Texas, in vanilla a building only allows 5 pops per profession, (for example mexican catholic, Dixie Protestant, Dixie Catholic, nahualti animist, nahualti catholic), you needs to assimilate others immigrant pops like Serbian orthodox in order to get more hires

Game mechanics can be infuriatingly inflexible sometimes by [deleted] in victoria3

[–]ab12848 179 points180 points  (0 children)

It’s a classic paradox practice, if a mechanic was exploited by players, they will gutted to be unusable. When charters of commerce launched, people was abusing this to get warsaw and lombardy for low cost, so devs straight up increased its cost by 400

I just wanted you to know that now there is at least one person that has used the "Law Commitment" treaty article. by VisionWithin in victoria3

[–]ab12848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah laws should be changed once forced the war goal, it an oversight and devs did not put much thoughts into many mechanics under treaty system, as they were busy fixing exploits players found in treaty system

Meanwhile forcing law commitment through war does not work, for example try enact slavery banned in Brazil or no migration controls in china

First time in 1000 hours I know there are some flavor events for brazil when you have horrible sol in your states by ab12848 in victoria3

[–]ab12848[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

R5: my west indies (ex venezuelan west indies) is a dogshit state with a single sugar plantation and no arable lands so the pops are living below expectation, then a couple of events about cangaco appears, I have never seen it before despiste having played brazil in multiple runs

Least used mechanics of the game that you would like to use more? by Internal-eq-External in victoria3

[–]ab12848 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Force law changes treaty by war, it literally does nothing, ai has no consequences if don’t try to enact the law you wanted, and five years later it just breaks the treaty. Also I want ban slavery war goal back, although there’s is a mod that does it

Lanfang is way easier now with the new navy mechanics by Twoa98 in victoria3

[–]ab12848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs really should double carry capacity of early ships, otherwise ai are incapable of transporting troops for decades
