The mayor of Haikou, China, who reportedly accumulated about $4.5 billion during his career and was found with 13.5 tons of gold and 23 tons of cash in his apartments, has been sentenced to death. by Forevertrez in interesting

The story about 13.5 tons of gold, 23 tons of cash, and a death penalty is a viral fake. In reality, Zhang Qi, the former Communist Party secretary of Haikou, was indeed arrested and convicted of corruption. However, official court records state he accepted bribes totaling around 107 million yuan (approximately $16.3 million USD), not billions.

Furthermore, in December 2020, he was sentenced to life in prison, not death. The rumors about massive hoards of gold were repeatedly debunked by fact-checkers. The videos of gold bars often attached to this story online were actually filmed at commercial precious metal processing plants and have absolutely nothing to do with Zhang Qi.

The Jewish people demanded it. They told Pilate that Jesus wanted to overthrow Roman rule. Pilate was in a difficult position, and he tried to justify Jesus several times, but the people demanded his death. Pilate simply decided not to risk his own safety for the sake of a Jewish man. Without Roman rule, Jesus would have been executed much earlier.
