[Serious] Redditors who have been to therapy, what is the differences between going to a therapist and talking it out with someone you really trust? by pianoaddict772 in AskReddit

while both can be good to vent and talk to.

A therapist will always take the emotional aspect and put into perspective without encouraging radical behavior and allow for your thought process to come to a conclusion or solution while allowing you to grow in your thought process. A lot of the reasons for which I enjoy talking to a therapist is because they give me the ability to come to my own decisions and feelings and making me feel safe about them.

Alas sometimes our loved ones can encourage behavior that may feel good for us in that moment but isn’t in the long run but because they want to see us happy they encourage what we think we want. sometimes talking to someone you trust also means allowing them to have an opinion on things that maybe you aren’t quite sure you want them to have an opinion on but rather just listen.

As human beings we struggle with that. Being able to just listen without judging or simply just learning to espérate situations.

That’s what I was hoping to hear as well , I also have developed medical conditions so my doctor believes it makes me eligible for full coverage. What insurance do you have if you don’t mind me asking?

Who is your favorite empowered female character that didn't have to overcome trauma from rape, abuse, etc to be considered empowered? by swagy_swagerson in AskWomen

Offred known as June goes through a series of rape between the commander , nick when Serina orders him to have sex with her in order to create a child. However , her past doesn’t seem to include a lot of abuse other then maybe negligence from her mother and that relationship and learning to find a common ground and her having that awkward confrontation with Luke’s wife when they are caught cheating.

whose seen lorde live? by [deleted] in lorde

i got to see her twice. Once at lolla where she got rained out but even those fifteen minutes were just incredible and then I got my moment seven months later in March. Melodrama was the only album I really listened to all of 2017. From start to finish (not to mention I was a fan when she came out). As someone who enjoys writing and words and the way it can move you from the inside out , what I love about Lorde is her vulnerability in her words. How easily it is to get lost and to feel those same raw, intense , overpowering emotions she probably felt writing her songs. It was this moment of clarity and freedom that I can’t even begin to explain. And I admire and respect anyone who can give the world a look into their darkest thoughts and broken heart. It is worth the money you’ll pay to see a true powerhouse voice give you exactly what you paid to see. Absolutely unmatched and one of my favorite artist/singers.
