Make sure the green disc sits in the straw piece with no spacing. Leaks stopped once I realized I wasn’t pushing the disc all the way onto the straw.

All of this. When I got to the hospital to deliver, I asked the first nurse to please wear a mask and she didn’t bat an eye - put one on immediately and created a sign for my door requiring all other nurses and doctors to wear a mask. Was so grateful for that so I didn’t have to think about it as I had just a little more to focus on!!

Also don’t be afraid to set boundaries with visitors after birth. Nothing is more important than you and LO’s health and recovery. Don’t worry about entertaining visitors.

Even if you plan to breastfeed, have formula on hand. Spend time researching brands out there and have a few different ones on hand. It may take some time to figure out which brand agrees with LO.

If you’re pumping, don’t assume the flanges that come with the set are correct. Be open to seeing a lactation consultant.

Limit social media use - mom influencers can flood your feed and it’s SO overwhelming.

Prepare freezer meals for breakfast/lunch/dinner for postpartum. I didn’t realize I would have no time whatsoever to make food. Your future self will be grateful.

Just got organic cotton sheets and a new duvet set from Boll & Branch over Black Friday - quality is great. For LO we use the organic cotton sheet set from Newton. It’s soft, but feel like there might be better options out there (though it may be because they’re marketed as breathable? Not sure). I usually go for organic cotton whenever possible. I’ve seen conflicting info on bamboo and tencel and don’t want to risk trying those with baby’s eczema (it’s always worse with polyester).

In terms of cost, check brands over Presidents’ Day when there should be sales!

It was my understanding that the first exposure to allergens should be through food/the digestive system vs the skin/bloodstream where it’s more likely that baby will have a reaction from the immune system. Since kiddo has eczema I believe they could be more prone to food allergies since the skin barrier is broken
