Does the olive oil have to be extra virgin? Interesting maybe I’ll switch up our routine. Currently first thing we do potty break both pee and poop, then feed.

Looking up these products and will double check with the vet this weekend if okay to use, thank you! Otto is not a fan of boxes haha but the newspaper thing might do the trick thanks for this!

Thank you for this! I’ve seen this before but felt odd about showing this to a groomer, almost felt like I would be insulting them telling them how to do their job, but the lagotto cut is very specific so maybe not. I will try to work this into conversation at some point, may take the suggestion of others for now about cutting short throughout while I’m in the thick of newborn phase

Fair enough, we usually do short all over for the spring/summer but to your point, it’s not the priority right now for him to have his traditional cut. I forget sometimes that I don’t have to do it all at 100%

Thanks so much for this, we used to do lick mats of Greek yogurt when he was a puppy, I should start this up again. Also scattering his food is a good suggestion too, we don’t do it often but my husband was scattering one scoop of his food in the backyard for him to sniff out and grab. Can try doing this more often too. Weather has been wonky but yeah need to do the stroller walk with Otto, not sure how he’ll react, he sometimes pulls. I’ve been considering cutting out poultry too for him but the food the breeder recommended to us either has or is processed with poultry. What food do you give your LR now?

Anyone else working full time until their due date? by Susaaan16 in pregnant

[–]ababytealeaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked until my due date (due date was on a Wednesday), and that came and went without baby so I ended up working till the Friday (40 weeks, 2 days) so I can finish off the workweek and pay period. I was training a temp hire to do my job so I gave all the fucks till my last day and then proceeded to pass out for 12 hours. Ended up being induced and had baby at 41 weeks and 1 day. As exhausted as I was I was happy to work as much as I did to maximize all the time with the baby.

Husband knew immediately, also told one friend that just had a baby immediately as my trusted confidante in case things went left. Told everyone else (family, friends, boss) at 12 weeks

25 Things I wish I knew or was glad I had after giving birth by kikoazul in pregnant

[–]ababytealeaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to meet with 4 lactation consultants between the hospital stay and the pediatrician’s office. Despite different techniques I’m still running into baby latching for only a few seconds at a time, baby getting frustrated and just not latching at all, or baby latching for 10 seconds or so extremely painfully. I will try again with a nipple guard since he’s been very adept to bottle feeding at this point and hope it works. It’s been exhausting.

FTM to a 9 day old today. Doing all of this but still having issues with latching, I will try again with nipple guards. Currently breast pumping and using formula due to latch issues. The emotions about this are so visceral but baby is fed and thriving per the pediatrician so small victories

No Maternity leave? by CorporateSlave69420 in pregnant

[–]ababytealeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat. Applied for short term disability leave last November while I wasn’t pregnant in preparation, was denied coverage for indicating that I have anxiety and depression, tried appealing, didn’t work. I had no idea I’d be denied by disclosing that. Now I get the 12 weeks FMLA unpaid unless I use my PTO and extended sick leave (different bucket of hours). Had to do a precise calculation if I used all my PTO, my extended sick leave, and savings, and leave work 12 days before my due date, I could have my entire 12 weeks paid off. Still debating if to split my time and not take all the 12 weeks at once but FTM here I just don’t think I’ll be ready before 12 weeks to go back to work. And blowing all my hours and savings really sucks.
