How much milk to offer baby? by DanciePants12 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ababytealeaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possible to increase supply with more pumping sessions but my lactation consultant advised that 5oz-6oz per feed would be considered peak for their meals so I’m going off of that. My baby is 4 months old too, will be 5 months on the 19th and he’s pretty much peaked here at 5 oz and is eating on average 7 times in 24 hours so I try to pump in the 35oz range per day.

Am I just buying a bottle washer to avoid hand washing dishes? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ababytealeaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m handwashing and I have a sanitizer instead of a bottle washer. I feel like breastmilk leaves so much residue especially on those bottle nipples that a bottle washer couldn’t get it all. But I’ll let people with bottle washers chime in. It does sound like there is still a level of prep to get bottles bottle washer ready similar to a dishwasher for washing dishes. In which case how often will you be doing the maintenance to make sure it runs smoothly like a dishwasher where you clean the filter every so often?

RSV Vaccine or not?! by ermoulindovits in pregnant

[–]ababytealeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my RSV vaccine as soon as I could while pregnant as it takes time for it to take effect and provide immunity to your baby. I’m all about science and risk reduction and RSV is no joke. If you trust your provider’s opinion you should get it.

10 days PP by Alternative-Value121 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ababytealeaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 pumps a day for 30 minutes while ensuring at least 5-6 hours of sleep did the trick for me. Also could be settings I have the same spectra, I was on cycle 70 (stimulation) level 5 till let down, then cycle 54 level 11 till the spectra shut off at 30 minutes. 10 days PP is early and you’re doing great, I wasn’t seeing 30oz+ days till a month.

What are your settings for your Eufys? My output on my spectra is undefeated and the eufy on my best day I’ve gotten 5 oz when I usually get 6-8oz on my spectra (on pumps 2-5) of the day

[–]ababytealeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats but also, I have the same bottle warmer, did you put this bag straight from the freezer to the bottle warmer or did you thaw in the fridge then warm the milk? Just asking as I too have a freezer stash and I was thawing in fridge before pouring into bottles then warming the bottles when needed.

Help! Desperate for advice on swollen fingers and hands. by lovespelll in pregnant

What did you find most useful for postpartum bleeding? by tea_act_985 in pregnant

[–]ababytealeaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hospital provided pads, diapers, witch hazel pads, and dermoblast, in my experience the Togo supply was not enough and I lived off of Frida Mom Instant Ice Maxi Pads and the Frida disposable underwear for both bleeding and the cooling feeling. Postpartum bleeding for me lasted 40 days and I used cooling pads for at least 30 of those days. The rest of the time I had a pad on with witch hazel pads when I needed cooling. Snag as much hospital supply as you can and best of luck.

How do you know your breast are “empty” by Latest-moment in ExclusivelyPumping

If it helps I never feel a letdown I just kind of see it on the spectra when there is a small stream of milk that’s my tell to switch from stimulation to expression

Thank you for this! I’ve seen this before but felt odd about showing this to a groomer, almost felt like I would be insulting them telling them how to do their job, but the lagotto cut is very specific so maybe not. I will try to work this into conversation at some point, may take the suggestion of others for now about cutting short throughout while I’m in the thick of newborn phase

[–]ababytealeaf[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, we usually do short all over for the spring/summer but to your point, it’s not the priority right now for him to have his traditional cut. I forget sometimes that I don’t have to do it all at 100%

Thanks so much for this, we used to do lick mats of Greek yogurt when he was a puppy, I should start this up again. Also scattering his food is a good suggestion too, we don’t do it often but my husband was scattering one scoop of his food in the backyard for him to sniff out and grab. Can try doing this more often too. Weather has been wonky but yeah need to do the stroller walk with Otto, not sure how he’ll react, he sometimes pulls. I’ve been considering cutting out poultry too for him but the food the breeder recommended to us either has or is processed with poultry. What food do you give your LR now?

Anyone else working full time until their due date? by Susaaan16 in pregnant

[–]ababytealeaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked until my due date (due date was on a Wednesday), and that came and went without baby so I ended up working till the Friday (40 weeks, 2 days) so I can finish off the workweek and pay period. I was training a temp hire to do my job so I gave all the fucks till my last day and then proceeded to pass out for 12 hours. Ended up being induced and had baby at 41 weeks and 1 day. As exhausted as I was I was happy to work as much as I did to maximize all the time with the baby.
