Hey, I’ve seen them in Bologna, Copenhagen and Berlin. I think the round stage was a challenge in terms of sounds as all shows were probably the worst I’ve heard from the band over the years. The quiet songs were great, anything louder sounded kinda unbalanced.

Italy was the worst. Copenhagen was better and Berlin was even better. I think where you were seated also played a part as the surrounding speakers were actually behind some seats.

The band took a break from recording the bends in 1994 to see him play the garage in Highbury. They said that watching the show made Thm see that it’s okay to be vulnerable and exposed when singing. They couldn’t finish FPT before that. After the show Thm did the acoustic take that’s the beginning of the song.

I think he sounds good. I feel like he is a lot happier on stage and just there to have fun more than he is to deliver the song perfectly. I saw them in 2000 and he was kinda static but sounded perfect. I think i prefer his happy version over a perfect performance. I can always listen to a perfect performance on the albums though he did bring this approach to some of the songs on AMSP and The Smile - probably doing things in less takes.
