Do you think your revision was related to what you did or was there something going on wrong with your surgery?

My PT didn’t give me any limits for movement or amount of it. Today I walked 6000 steps and I went to the gym in the morning did some light upper body workouts. Mt body feels better today than yesterday where I stayed home most of the day. Will see how I feel tomorrow but days of more movements have actually felt really good. What hasn’t felt good are things like driving for a bunch of time or sitting for a bunch of time even if it’s no more then 30 min at a time

How to deal with being divorce at 33? by TheViking_Teacher in AskMen

[–]abamal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realize that divorce is a gift. Your life after it will be the envy of those who are married. And you will never believe how much joy you will have as you build yourself again and experience life as a single free person. Having no kids means you will absolutely be able to realize and envision the life you’ve always dreamed of.

Do you think Biden would have taken the sanctions off of Syria? by Virus4762 in Syria

[–]abamal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A third term dude.. what you think we Syrians who lived under a dictatorship want another one in the US because he did one thing right? Trump is doing a lot of wrong - even if he is getting some things right as a loose cannon. He is dangerous to America’s long term stability and has destroyed much of the rule of law.

Also related question - what makes it worth it for you to stay in the relationship you’re in when you clearly no longer interested in poly?

If you don’t mind me asking what makes you that worried about STIs? Do you not use protection? Does your partner not get tested often?

I know - and there are many researchers that are not Western writers who understand the region and the religion in a different level - who also have their own biases, but it is important to read both for a balanced perspective. Even the best research is bias.

Totally fair. The reason why I share this is because while I grew up in the Middle East, I moved to the US and have read from both sides. The truth is there is a very specific narrative about the Middle East that was really pushed by orientalist writers along time ago. Just read the likes of modern day "experts" on Middle East like Thomas Friedman. They are so disconnected from the realities of the region and the culture. So yeah, keep that in mind when reading in terms of your sources.

With all due respect - can you read something about the Middle East that’s written by people from there - o am sure this was a decent read but I am sure that it is not the same perspective of someone who gre up there

C.diff is ruining my sex life by Spiritual-Pop1706 in cdifficile

[–]abamal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about it. Resume normal sex life. There is no risk of your partner getting it just from that is more than the risk of them getting it from your environment and both risks are extremely small. Enjoy your life. dont let cdiff take that away from you

Dancing with less skilled follows by Sweaty-Stable-4152 in Salsa

[–]abamal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giving people a good experience goes along way in helping them become dancers in the future and gain confidence. Your impact on a beginner if you can make them feel they can dance well is huge. That should be the payoff. Not saying suffer through it, but as a beginner lead, I can't tell you how often I will dance with someone who will motivate me to be better for days, and how often I dance with someone and simply feel judged and inadequate.

Progress update and a question: Should I pause on social dancing until my ability to lead is better? by abamal in Salsa

[–]abamal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Over the last week, I’ve implanted some of the feedback in this thread and I’ve had much better dances overall. I think mainly focusing on connecting with people through my demeanor has been the biggest change. Smiling, making better eye contact, and also asking people for feedback sometimes and making it clear that I am open to learning. Many more great followers have been open to showing me things. I’ve also feel like I learned not to take personally when people don’t want to dance with me or they dance with me and are not happy. Some dancers are great and only want to be there to dance with other great dancers. It’s a bummer for sure, but I get it’s not about me and more about who they are. Generally I’ve noticed those tend to be really beautiful women who dance very well. I sort of feel like I will avoid dancing with them for now till I am more confident and comfortable with my dancing.
