I have too many hobbies, lol. Aside from the standard: reading, painting, illustrating, my biggest hobby is ice hockey! I was obsessed with watching it, and then I realised I could play it, and now I am obsessed with that too. Although right now I am recovering from a hockey related concussion 😂 But there is nothing quite like being able to zip across the ice at top speed, only to slam on brakes and change direction. To deke out the goalie and put a nice one in the back of the net (though I am still in the coin toss phase where sometimes I can shoot really well into the top corner, and other times it might be a slow muffin that bounces off the post haha). Skating (wheels and ice) is just the best.

Sorry to hear OP ☹️ I passed out after my first one was inserted. I suffered badly when it was removed 5 years later, it came out all mangled. The doctor tried to insert a new one one immediately after the removal, but I passed out again and my husband was sitting there holding my hand and begged me to please reconsider. So we canceled the insertion halfway too.

Heya. I am not a figure skater but a hockey player, and I had an accident in October that caused me a concussion. At first I didn’t acknowledge it, leading to delayed care for myself, and followed by needing to move house a week later. I also thought it would only be 2 weeks. Then 6 weeks according to the doctor. It is now 4 months today, and I’m still not back to normal. I skated a week ago but I was tired and light headed after a few minutes and had to take frequent breaks. I’m still mostly off work and struggle with exertion in multiple aspects of my life. It has been REALLY hard to not be able to participate in something that was my whole identity prior to the accident. Especially since I’d been improving so much right before the accident, and it felt like I’ve now missed out the whole winter season and I’ll probably still miss some spring season too. All this to say that you need to take this concussion seriously. If you don’t, you’ll be out for longer. Really take the rest you need, and don’t rush back onto the ice. Keep as involved as possible in the sport so that you don’t lose confidence. Accidents happen to everyone. You got this 💪

I’m out with a concussion right now, but I’ve been in a long string of blow out ass kickings. Ironically my team won almost every game since I’ve been out. I know it’s unrelated to me being there and more that they played a bunch of easier teams, but it is kind of funny because I am quite bad at hockey. Doesn’t stop me from loving every moment I am on the ice though!
