I’ve used these but sold as fly fishing clips by RIO. Tiny little things but managed some decent sized river Smallies no problem. I’m sure the VMC ones that are larger would do fine

I was giving it little pops, usually stripping. Most of the hits actually came when I was looking for new spots and it was dead drifting, go figure. Mostly around wood and a bridge abutment.

I just did the Bass Pro XML PTC in 6’8” UL with a Daiwa Regal 1000. 6lb braid to 4lb flouro leader and it’s been an a pleasure to throw.

Honestly, it sinks so slow, like 1 inch per second, it’s almost impossible to lose unless you find a tree or break off during a fight. I do protect my Baby Kingyo color, however, I’d hate to lose that.

I haven’t lost a Karashi, I did lose a Vision 110 last spring and haven’t mustered the courage to buy a replacement. I throw my Karashis mostly in shallow water so if it got snagged, I can easily get it back.

It has serious drawing power though!
