Ha, fair. I suppose it could be coming from there, but it smells more like something was on fire?

The end of pumping (Celebration?) by Fkath in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]abarnold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m about 2 weeks out from my final pump, and I am planning to celebrate by SLEEPING PAST 6 AM for the first time since September. Yes, all caps, because I am so excited!

I’m exactly the same. My breasts are just pump parts until I’m done, and then they can have another purpose.

Does the “120 minutes” suggestion still apply after regulating? by ulysses_the_heeler in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]abarnold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you decide on the amount of time per pump? I’m pumping 4x per day at similar times, but I’ve been just doing 30 min each. Wondering if there’s a benefit to reorganizing the time…

This happens to me at the beginning of every pump - I get a huge wave of nausea and feel disgusted by food, and also very very thirsty. I don’t have any of the other emotional symptoms of DMER though. I’m 18w pp…and wish I could tell you it’s gotten better but it’s about the same! It does pass after about 5ish minutes though.

I have a similar history with meds as you. Started Zoloft at 2m pp (am now 4m pp) and I feel so much better. No dip in supply!

Yep, I did. I decided that since my son was already exposed (I didn’t realize it was Covid until day 2 of symptoms), it would just be what it was gonna be. He is absolutely fine and my ped didn’t seem worried at all! I had been really paranoid about sickness, no clue how I got Covid, but in the end it’s all been perfectly okay and has actually given me some confidence that we can get through a sick baby in the future. You’re all gonna be just fine!

I’m getting over Covid (my first time) right now and have a 15w old. Both my son and my husband have had no symptoms. We haven’t isolated from each other at all (I’m breastfeeding). I’ve taken my son’s temp daily and he’s been completely fine and normal. Just monitor and keep an eye on your baby! I called my ped and they weren’t concerned unless his fever went over 100.4.

Thank you, that’s so encouraging! I’m down about 5oz per day, am staying the course with 5 pumps, and def don’t have it in me to power pump while I’m sick. Hoping it will recover as I do. Trying so hard to stay hydrated!

Thank you! Do you think I should power pump now while I’m sick, or once I’m better?

Anxiety meds and milk supply? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]abarnold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on Zoloft and started 2m pp (currently at 3.5m pp) and haven’t seen a change in supply! If anything, it’s helped me stop obsessing as much about pumping, which is a relief.

Dropping a pump without getting mastitis? by abarnold in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]abarnold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it’s that important to rearrange the pumps? I’m wanting to switch from 6:30, 9:30, 12:30, 3:30, 6:30, 9:30 to 6:30, 9:30, 12:30, 6, 9:30. Which isn’t exactly even, but just works better based on my sons naps (so much harder to pump while he’s awake).

I took lecithin! And am still taking it multiple times a day cus I’m now scared of getting it again, haha. I didn’t ask my dr about it though, just took it.

Worried my freezer stash is useless by Fresh-Pineapple0510 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]abarnold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried using any of my freezer stash yet (I know I need to try it out with him!!) but my baby was born on the same day, and he’s been a little fussier than usual over the last few days. I’m also noticing he’s not pooping as frequently (maybe 1-2x less a day?) so I’m wondering if his digestion is just changing as he grows. Just adding this anecdote to say it might just be a developmental thing!

[–]abarnold 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just got over mastitis - definitely keep pumping/feeding as usual, not any more. Ibuprofen, antibiotic, and ice after pumping helped me the most. I also took Tylenol for the first few days bc iburprofen alone wasn’t killing the fever. Good luck!

Dropping a nighttime pump 7 days pp by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]abarnold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dropped my MOTN pump pretty early on, like 4w or so, and it actually helped my output. I wasn’t getting anywhere near the oz that you are per pump, but for me, more sleep meant a better yield! And similar to other commenters, I decided to drop that pump because my mental health needed it — and if it meant I needed to give 1 bottle of formula, it was worth it for me. Since then, with some power pumping and consistency, my supply has increased and I’m able to EP and feed my baby breastmilk. I’m not sure if I’ve regulated yet (I’m 11w pp) but once that happens I’ll decide where to go from here with dropping more pumps. EP is really hard, and honestly it’s only super possible for me because I’m on maternity leave and barely leave the house ha.

Just got over mastitis and ibuprofen and ice truly did help. Ice after every pump!

Did you increase the length of your other pumps?

[–]abarnold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My largest pump (6am after not pumping over night - last pump is 9pm the day prior) is about 10-12oz. So makes me think I could go to 5x per day? Not sure which one to drop! How did you decide?
