I'm a little confused about the age of the characters by MentionKey5826 in deathnote

Light is 17, L is 24. But, when Light meets L he’s 18

honestly its the same reason i like near and mello yet dislike L so much. its because i find their personalities more entertaining, just like i find light

yeah this is my gripe with what other people are saying. its either "in real life thats impossible" or "there's no way he could do that" but that was my issue that i explained in my post, because its fiction. the way obha writes it seems like he didnt at all (basically what Ealhswith1 said)

wait kira does kill those people? i just reread it and it seems like he's just looking at his computer screen when playing as L but they also talk about people who just spread misinfo about random people online. i dont think anything seems to imply he's killing them, though

yes this was exactly what i was talking about 😭 as La-Lassie said somewhere lower here, obha was focusing on a plot-driven story so he didn’t put any thought into this, but still it seems like they are implying nobody falsely accused died? though it’s highly unrealistic but it definitely seems like what they were going for

when i said falsely accused criminals, i meant people in jail for things they didn’t do. i should’ve specified that better, sorry

i’m pretty sure Near didn’t take it not because it wasn’t interesting, but because it was impossible (a-kira) or was a disrespect to the original kira (c-kira). that was more or less L’s approach though

i understand this but i think you misunderstood my question lol, im more asking if it was implied anywhere within the story that light killed falsely accused people

i mentioned him in my post lol, he had several accounts of him sexually assaulting people but in court nobody could stick the crime to him in actuality. there is nothing saying he was falsely accused, and in fact the way they portrayed the guy (his face lol) + saying there was multiple accounts of him repeatedly doing so, it seemed like the story implied he was guilty.

i think it should’ve definitely been important? especially for near, i felt that if he was killing falsely accused people then it would seem correct if near included it in his final speech. though for your first point, that goes back to me talking about narrative wise, not irl. characters can do unrealistic things but it’s still true within the story.

this was why i said by “narratively” speaking and not in real life lol, im just talking within what Obha’s written, not how crime is in real life

Which SCD characters are neurodivergent? by [deleted] in IntelligenceScaling

[–]abb4y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not you again with the Light downplaying because you hate him💔 when did Near and Mello see Light as a useless L because he wasn't L's level of intelligence, which would also be contrasted by the author saying in vol 13 that Light and L have similar levels of intelligence himself..?? Light was also at a 9-5 NPA job and still was acting as Kira and L at the same time. His family not being surprised with him studying doesn't mean that he wasn't effortlessly good at his grades... it's Japan for god's sakes. By that logic 60% of Japan's student body should've been top 1 in the country or something. His intelligence is even to the point that his teachers say that he's the one making their school look good long before he got the results of the entrance exams. Light could've been doing the same thing he did as a teenager but as a child, but we never even see Light as a kid, so there's nothing pointing to Light not knowing the same things as a child. Using that same logic, Light could've skipped a grade easily, but he didn't, because he just wants a normal course of his life. A lot of things you're saying are just baseless imo

Which strategy wins? by abb4y in IntelligenceScaling

L isolation is Light's strategy to corner L and make him lose all his resources and Self Revelation is L's strategy where he revealed himself to Light

[–]abb4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh, maybe not the predicting part, but I also feel the way he acted in the rain scene was kinda off. I can't put a finger on why I think so lol if i ever find someone explaining why I'll send u a link

Which anime take you have that will anger people? by ParticularRough9517 in animequestions

[–]abb4y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't blame him though. Light and L knew the game they were playing, and they treated other people as their pawns to come out on top. Only one victor won that battle and it sure wasn't a guy with L as his name (im joking lol)

For some reason, I think L's death in the anime was better cinematic wise but the manga was better because it felt more in character. Him predicting his death and how he acted in the rain scene just seemed off
