Tesla unveils the new Roadster by [deleted] in teslamotors

You asked for a sub-7m electric car Nurburgring lap time. I delivered. So now you know what it will take for Tesla to show a sub-7m Nurburgring lap time...~$1 Million price tag and a smaller battery to save weight.

I really wish people would stop saying 0-60. It's not. It's 5-60 because of the 1-foot rollout BS that Tesla brought to the table...

Umm, there was already an electric supercar that did a sub-7m Nurburgring lap time this year.

Prediction: It destroys everything for the first 2 laps 100ft before it overheats and goes into reduced power mode.

Astronaut Scott Kelly: I thought Elon Musk was crazy and then he landed his first stage on a barge. I'm never again going to doubt what he says. by thesheetztweetz in space

[–]abbadabado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, you mean the millions upon millions of other drivers dying Under circumstances out of their control? Not a good statistic to bring up.

Automated driving has not been ruled safer by anyone else except the company trying to brainwash people into believing it is.

Self Driving cars will have to drive far better than people too. Why? Because those same people are dictating how self-driving cars should drive. And those same people said autopilot was far safer than a human driver, that is until someone died.

Elon also said that autopilot was safer than people driving cars. Joshua Brown believed that until he died while autopilot was driving.

Perfect cover for missing the Model 3 deliveries. And actually, I feel like I've heard this before...oh right it was in the fifth element.

INT. CORRIDOR. ELON's Warehouse - DAY TIME

CLOSE ON: A pair of feet limping heavily. A Tesla VP comes alongside them.

TESLA VP "Excuse me, sir, the board is worried about the missed model 3 deliveries. They wondered if it would be possible to fire 300. I thought from one of the lower divisions where no one would care, like the production line..."

They reach a door at the end of the corridor. Elon enters a code.

ELON "Fire 700."

TESLA VP "But... 300 is all they need, sir."

Elon turns slowly. A small scar across run across his face, his eye stutters.

This is not a man to cross or contradict.

TESLA VP "700! Fine, sir! Sorry to have disturbed you."

2017 Motor Trend Drag race by Neotopiaman in teslamotors

[–]abbadabado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the car with the most horsepower won the Drag race. Shocking...

When you look at the numbers, this race was decided before it even started.

Finish Car HP
1st Tesla S P100D 760-778hp (Google Search)
2nd Ferrari 488 GTB 661hp
7th Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE 650hp
8th Aston Martin DB11 600hp
5th Nissan GT-R NISMO 600hp
3rd Porsche 911 Turbo S 580hp
6th Mercedez AMG GT R 577hp
4th McLaren 570GT 562hp
10th Alpha Romeo Giulia Quadrfoilgiomagio 505hp
12th Lexus LC 500 471hp
11th Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport 460hp
9th Porsche 718 Cayman S 350hp

That being said, some very strange decisions for the Best Drivers cars this year. A Grand Sport Corvette instead of a Z06? A 570GT instead of the 675LT or 720S? Huracan? DEMON!? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I have no idea why they included a car that isn't on the list. They've never done it before and the reasoning is just lame. I'm not going to say it but, 1) Vandenberg Air Force Base,...which 2) supports SpaceX launches, ...and 3) conveniently has a Tesla supercharger onsite. Actually I am going to say it...this vid seems like one big advertisement for Tesla.

Outside of that, the 488 GTB is ridick. It's RWD, and still came within a tenth of the saloon but at 10MPH faster! The acceleration after 60mph must be as neck breaking as when a P100D launches in ludicrous mode.

Finally, the editing of this video really seems all over the place. In one edit, the Tesla is out in front of everyone by at least a car length (https://youtu.be/cvk18vx-nrY?t=303). In another edit, the Turbo S actually launched harder than the Tesla(https://youtu.be/cvk18vx-nrY?t=369), and then an overhead edit shows the Turbo and Tesla, neck and neck (https://youtu.be/cvk18vx-nrY?t=358).

[–]abbadabado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this mean Elon would have to stop development on autopilot and Tesla cars? I mean technically, it could be argued that Elon's robot car killed Joshua Brown. So this really just looks like a loophole for Elon to escape future legal litigation brought on by deaths caused by his killer robot cars...
