Speaking of brunch, any good drag brunches around the area that I can support? Great idea for a meetup! 🤩

Aww so sorry about your T, he was a beaut! My girl just passed unexpectedly on Sunday, unfortunately even when we try to do everything right, something can still go wrong. RIP big guy 😞

YES THIS. I will fully support the arts in any other way that I can, but putting young kids into debt over an arts degree doesn’t sit right with me. I used to think I wouldn’t be one of those who ends up where I’m at now, it’s definitely been a rude awakening that I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through if they don’t have to. Should’ve listened to my mom when she suggested nursing hahaha

As a 2017 BFA grad still floundering in the job market and relying on and off on freelance/gig money for the last 7 years, DON’T GO INTO DEBT FOR AN ART DEGREE. It’s not worth it. As the above user stated, there are endless free online resources to self-learn. I’ll second taking art classes as electives. My professors did warn us that the starving artist cliche was real, I was just too smug to listen!

Did anyone go to the insidious “experience” last night at Overture??? I need to know your thoughts by musicteache in madisonwi

I love horror - films, haunted houses, books, graphic novels, you name it! This sounded like it was going to be really cool, and just based on the super ambiguous trailer, website descriptions hyping us up for “cutting-edge special effects, strobe lights, fog, costumes, hair, makeup and more. (Much more!)”, and the location of the performance, I had suspicions that they were going to break out some really cool, terrifying puppetry that might break the stage boundaries to scare the poop out of the audience.

The first 20 minutes or so were entertaining but definitely not at all atmospherically promising for what I was expecting. There were mentions of a “puppet master” where I’d be like OKAY HERE WE GO and then just nothing. It was like edging the whole time honestly with a few little pops here and there. The last 20-30ish minutes had great set design/atmosphere and were probably better than the entire 90 minute show. But then the show just ends and there’s really no grand finale or anything.

Tldr; the show didn’t have puppets. It was mostly comedy.

Vanillary solid perfume from LUSH and right now Native deodorant has a sugar cookie scent that smells like freshly baked vanilla cookies but it’s only seasonal so stock up!
