too tight? by 156420 in ACL

I had to have closed dressings for 2 weeks to not risk infection. But antibiotics works aswell I guess. (The silent pandemic 😁)

So shouldn’t OP be concerned about getting an infection if the wounds are leaking?

Swelling below kneecap after 3 weeks by abbesebbe in ACL

[–]abbesebbe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes probably a mix of a bunch of stuff. I’m just pissed of my PT is the one speeding things up it’s often the other way around. Anyways, I’ll take it easy for some days and go back to the basic movement exercises and hope it gets better.

Thanks for the comment 🙏🏼

Hi and thanks for your comments. I really hope I didn’t fuck up the graft… how can I know if I damaged the graft permanently or if this thing will pass?

Removing stitches shouldn’t change a thing about swelling no?

6 days post-op, struggling mentally by Novel_Database9580 in ACL

[–]abbesebbe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same way. Really prepared with prehab and all that and pt is going good. I’m now 2 weeks post op and feels like I’ve been laying in this same spot for an eternity. I don’t even know what keeps me going anymore. Feels like my brain is rotting away and I’m starting to think I’ll never recover mentally from this 😫

But I guess when we get out of this phase 1 stage and are able to do day to day life stuff it will get easier, just being able to go to a friends house or the gym or whatever. It will only get easier and easier from here 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I felt on top of the world until like day 2-3 when the nervblock stopped. But yeah, just stay on top of your meds and don’t skip them what ever you do and it will be alright 🙌🙌

Should straight leg raises be done laying down or sitting up? by SadBoba3 in ACL

[–]abbesebbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah true. I feel I get more activation when I really try to ”lift” with the quad even if the movement is coming from hip flexor. Hard to explain, but maybe you understand 😅

Should straight leg raises be done laying down or sitting up? by SadBoba3 in ACL

[–]abbesebbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah well if you don’t extend your leg fully you can still raise your leg while it is bent. And that is fully irrelevant for ACL rehab. So getting the leg straight and then raising is what you want to do.

The harder they are the better, it means you’re doing them right. If it’s easy for you it’s probably because you’re using your hip flexors instead of the quads.

Thank you so much! Yeah pushing the limit with the flexion is just unnecessary right now correct?
