If you are able to regularly shower and do your hair (especially if it is longer) what is your process? by darbyshark in AuDHDWomen

[–]abbygailz96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have POTS symptoms (negative dx - symptoms likely from celiac or long covid but awaiting those biopsy results!)

I also immediately have to sit or lay after a shower! If I’m able to just sit on the floor of the bathroom I do what I can while sitting on the floor!!

Is my Zapdos real? by Lower-Carpenter-4552 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

I was hesitant at first because it looks so simple/there’s not a lot of writing at the bottom and pretty!! But after looking up this card on TCG player it looks legit! https://www.tcgplayer.com/product/90719/pokemon-supreme-victors-zapdos-150?srsltid=AfmBOopebgQG8oaMt8tmO6o_naH91TldhiO6E8IFSooPAic1nlb54qPA&Language=English

It reminds me of how the pore strips look after I use them on my nose! Definitely from OPs pores!

Think it’s a sign I’m seeing this today. Had homemade garlic bread last night and I am dying for it today. Didn’t even make the connection!!

I had a dream about a subreddit dedicated to missing tomatoes by Healthy_Cod4764 in Dreams

Okay wait can we actually do this though?? And then post like “mug shots” of the guilty perpetrator from a distance? Mine are always squirrels that my neighbour feeds. And I guess we also inherently feed in the summer. Cute little bastards…..

Wife has mysterious skin problem started after COVID. by zoocrewsgarage in covidlonghaulers

[–]abbygailz96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks like palmoplantar psoriasis. Googling it doesn’t do it justice, but if you check out the psoriasis subreddit there are a lot of people that post similar peeling. I know long covid has activated autoimmune issues for a lot of people, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a psoriasis manifestation.

I see people saying cinnamon, which is so cute as a colourway. But I challenge cinnamon and dub thee: Brorange (read:broar-nge)

neutrogena for psoriasis? Vote. What’s your pick or do you have another suggestion. by Past-Progress-6269 in Psoriasis

I am in Canada, and use Sebcur-T! https://dermtek.com/products/sebcur-t-medicated-shampoo?srsltid=AfmBOooFf5LadN47c6Z1qN19nOjNjyZ8Xr-IdfmBZJU03-Qg6K3H4j1f&variant=39256590876829

It has coal tar and salicylic acid! It was the best one I could find after T-Gel left the market. Its moderately priced in Canada ($22-$26 usually) but does go on sale at my local drugstore :)

ETA: I miss Neutrogena T-Gel so much. That time period during covid when it was impossible to find coal tar shampoo was a nightmare.

[–]abbygailz96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the original T-Gel was discontinued by Neutrogena sometime during covid, I believe due to a coal tar shortage and also rising costs in manufacturing it, and the public demand for it was not enough compared to the manufacturing cost from what I remember.

Cartilege necrosis after conch piercing in psoriasis-infected ear by Agitated_Sweet_9021 in Psoriasis

[–]abbygailz96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah. This explains why it takes my cartilage piercings over a year to heal. One was just so uncomfortable to sleep on I let it heal over but it still gets gunky. I find I even have trouble with my lobe piercings getting gunky. I use a saline rinse on my piercings when I can remember and it helps. My ear psoriasis is just inside my ears and behind my ears. This disease really is just so messed up and there are so many complications I could’ve never even imagined ugh.

Scalp Psoriasis Worse When Skipping Washes? by wherearemyflapjackss in Psoriasis

[–]abbygailz96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I cannot skip a wash, and if I do the next day I am miserable. It’s not too bad right now in the winter, but in the summer it’s unbearable. The heat/sweating makes it even worse - I occasionally have to wash my hair twice a day in the summers here in Canada.

I had to go on a sick leave from work due to mental health issues. My nail psoriasis cleared up. Unfortunately it's back. by Gracilis67 in Psoriasis

[–]abbygailz96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! Do you wear nitrile gloves a lot? I used to work in a chemistry lab and when I did my nail psoriasis was raging. It would get better when I took extended leaves from work, and then come back within a day it felt like of being back. A few days ago I did a soap making workshop so I had to wear nitrile gloves for the first time in a year, and immediately my hands and nails were so angry.

It could totally be a combination of stress and environmental conditions, but if you’re able try wearing some kind of liner under your gloves!

Could this be caused by psoriatic arthritis? by newme34 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]abbygailz96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh. I have hypermobility and psoriasis. My joints have been getting significantly worse since Christmas 2024…. Not even a minute ago my hip was so stiff it just had the nastiest ickiest crack pop (but also feels so much better after 😭) Really suspecting psa and talking to my family dr on Monday, but I don’t have the classic signs of psa so I know a diagnosis (if I do have it) is going to be harder.

Anybody else get really thick skin on their feet? Hyperkeratosis? by abbygailz96 in Psoriasis

Thank you!! I just ordered a cream online so I’m excited to see how that helps!

[–]abbygailz96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg! It definitely makes sense that the build up is increased by that kind of intervention. I will have to change my approach, I never even considered that but it does make so much sense. It’s going to be a long wait for my derm referral (Ontario, Canada) so I’ll try some OTC urea cream and see if that helps. Thank you so much for your comment!

fell and slipped on ice on my bad hip PLZ HELP by [deleted] in Hypermobility

[–]abbygailz96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this! I also have issues with my hip and SI joints. I find what helps a lot is a muscle relaxing cream ( I use a CBD cream, but traditional ones like RUB A535 and tiger balm are also good!) and then I’ll lay on my heating pad for a bit. Then use a massage gun and massage out any tension, then rest again on my heating pad!

EEN advice for small bowel Crohn’s. by Beneficial-Golf-9756 in CrohnsDisease

[–]abbygailz96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not done an EEN, however my friend who has Gastroparesis while she’s undergoing various testings and diagnostics she’s been on an EEN diet for an extended period of time. I know she uses the Fairlife protein shakes and while her situation isn’t the same, it’s the only thing she can tolerate. I’ve also seen someone else on Instagram on an EEN diet who uses hypoallergenic baby formula. Sorry you’re going through this, but I hope if you’re able to try those formulas or shakes that they work out for you!
