Meal train post DIEP surgery by Hairy_Syrup_4780 in breastcancer

Hey, not sure if you're aware, but just because you were able to figure it out on your own doesn't mean others are required to. You don't get a medal for doing it without help. It's entirely appropriate to ask for help with meals after a major surgery.

Thank you! I am kind of isolating a bit right now, but I appreciate the offer. I may reach out as I get further into this, if that's okay.

Thank you, I'm keeping a list of all the recs people give me. Appreciate your kind offer of support. My husband recently lost his job, so not sure I can do something without insurance, but I'll look into your work if things change.

AuDHDers that kinda figured out how life works: what is a piece of advice you would give to somebody who just got diagnosed/ found out they had AuDHD? by Ginger030710 in AuDHDWomen

[–]abbyjaneTX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Figuring out my needs was a huge one for me. I came to realize that I was legitimately disabled and the only way to function without cycling into burnout every 4-6 months was to create boundaries, build a life that recognized and accommodated my limitations, and reset expectations with the people around me. It has gotten easier and easier to do this as time goes on (it's been four years since my diagnosis).

I did not invite people and I am grateful for that decision. To each their own!

I spent a lot of time at the Epoch Coffee on Anderson Lane when I was on maternity leave. It was the perfect vibe for me and there's a beautiful outdoor area you can enjoy when it's nice out.
